being a good player, to me, is :

-being mechanically good -having a good macro game -being tiltproof/having a good mental -understanding the meta.

the last points means, know how to counter "op" champs and / or play them. this is the saddest thing however, but climbing is not only about champions.

You are not wrong, but depending on which champions you play, you also get a clear picture of what you can or can't do.

In my case, im a Azir OTP (mostly because of how much I love this champ) and a main example of what I can't do is roam and im also very dependant on farm. This basicly means that, I am very dependant on my teammates to not feed and giveaway great leads while I try to get my items.

However, back during preseason, he was a monster. I could easily dominate someone in lane thanks to his rework and I could easily build up my own leads. Now, thanks to pro-play (and the nerfs that came along), that isn't the same case.

My point being, while it's true that you need those "criterias" to be good at the game, if you play something that isn't "favorable" in the current meta, you are just handicapping yourself in what exactly you can do.

It should be about skill, not picks when it comes to a person's individual performance. Even if they counter-pick you should still be able to outplay them. On a macro scale there has to be synergy between everyone, but one still shouldn't have to be a meta slave.

Mechanics + Macro. Champions Best case usage typical goes unused. Lets hypotheticaly say that the best ADC in the game is Lucian . It counts for nothing in Every game he is not used to his best case, if that best case requires high level mechanics you don't see outside of diamond. Good news. 90% of the matches him being "favored" Is a non issue.

tldr. Riots correct, focus on getting good.

I'm building crit just to test different builds with runes etc. Wukong is gutted beyond belief, even if you go full AD you wont 1shot any squishy thats got a decent support around them [unless you're super fed which happens rarely]. and if they build tabis? you'll probably deal 50-60% dmg

There's more than a few people who are wukong OTP who made it to masters+ Im pretty sure you can reliably climb with him, that is of you're good of course. Which brings me back to my original point, skill>pick in 90% of the game's ELO excluding some REALLLY extreme cases of OP or UP champs, wukong isnt one of them.

So a guy got to masters 2-3 times on wukong on 3 different account, yet you still excuse your lack of climbing on your champion pick and not your skill. Sure buddy, you totally deserve diamond, it's Riot holding you back.

You do realize one guy who plays a shitty champ and gets to masters doesnt make that champ suddenly good? It's more like if he played something like graves he would be challenger. It literally does not matter what ONE guy does on one champ and wasn't harambe hardstuck d3-d1 for eternity until wukong became broken?

The champ might not be in his strongest state but we're not arguing balance and ranking champions. OP said skill is not as involved as just picking what is the FotM champ, blaming his lack of ability to climb on the fact he plays wukong rather than his own inability to play well.

If one guy can get to masters+ OTP a champ, that means that champ has the potential to be climbed with to high ELO.

Champion picks matter more and more the higher ELO you are because the skill ceilling is reached and when skill is equal, yes, picks will sometimes decide who wins. HOWEVER! 99% of league community are NOT in that ELO so saying they are hardstuck silver because Riot refuses to make their champ OP, just shows their lack of macro and micro skill.

I got almost 2 mil mastery on wu, and i got to masters last season playing 95% wu. Its true that he is weaker now since those nerfes but u can still use him on your elo since ppl are bad at abusing his weak lane. I am too lazy to check your op gg but here is dew recommendations. If ua re taking iginte just dont, go with tp, since u wont be winning top lane metchups anyway. Try to survive lane and keep even farm, when mid game comes thats where u will shine if u havent lost lane up to that point.

you get better by practicing, it really has nothing to do with "Riot favoring champs over others" it's two different things they don't relate, you can keep practicing and getting better to points where counter match ups or picking S tier champs wont matter to you because you have actually gotten better.

imo when it comes to climbing it just comes to grinding out more games, pretty hard to get out of silver with less than 100 games if your skill level is somewhere in low gold.

Favor champs I can deal with since I can always just play said champions myself (riot should still buff/rework older champions to viability), but when it's favoring role that's when I hate this game [sg-shisa]

It feels like the only role that matters in plat-low diamond is the stupid jungle role.

I don't beg for ganks or anything and I'm willing to help jungler If i have lane priority, but the amount of junglers I get that invades enemy jungle at the wrong time, fight for scuttle on the weaker side of the map, never gank flashless lanes (especially when enemy laner is weak early and overextended cause freeze) or countergank a lane where you win the 2v2 easily, not grabbing objectives when there is 0 risk to getting them, and more that I don't even want to get into is rage inducing.

Here's my favorite example of the type of junglers I been getting in mid plat-low diamond.
