nice dude
thanks bro
I just figured out how they're supposed to help him splitpush; you just leave a string of them along your escape route and as people chase you, you detonate them and give yourself the passive speed boost. It's really cool and clever, gives him a new skill ceiling; especially since his W now heals based on missing HP, you have more reason to put points in E. I like it a lot
The passive works on towers too. GP burns cities to the ground.

Could you clarify one thing? Is there a amount-limit, or time-limit to how many/how long barrels last? How many can you place? Will it be unlimited since it's destructible by enemies? How long will it stay on the field?
Barrels last for a really long time (like a minute or something) and there's no limit to how many you can place. It's mostly gated by a charge system (like corki R).
Do they grant vision like teemos shrooms?
I think so; was messing around with them on PBE, there's a tiny bit of vision around the barrels like Teemo shrooms, but they don't detonate if someone steps on them and I'm not sure if they actually reveal anyone unless they walk directly on top of it
—at which point they're already right clicking it for a free 10 gold you left sitting around.
GP Barrels aren't for wards except possibly in a split push scenario, because it is too easy to dismantle them to just scatter them around the map (I mean, even reek's tunnels take more effort to remove and you only have to stand on them for a couple seconds).
on Barrel, what does "the attack's damage" mean exactly? Just GP's current AD, or... does it factor in all damage being done by your attack/Parrley? Does it count Parrley bonus, Sheen, Statikkm etc.? What if it's a critical?
I'm currious on the number of barrels that can be out and if they can be all chained together.
I've got this mental image of Wile E. Coyote Gangplank with lots of kegs in a bush, waiting over the wall with one keg for Roadrunner enemies to wander in. I am also imagining bombing the river bush Top Lane from the Blue Side Tower.
I drew a special G (you can get more, I was just messing around a bit so they started to disappear)

Really? Thats amazing actually considering the passive DOES scale with AD.

Where are you seeing that it scales with AD? Why would true damage scale with AD on a passive? That seems a bit awkward.

Well after finally seeing some scaling, I 100% take back all that I have said.
Scaling on his passive, scaling and the added missing health on oranges...alright I concede, after seeing the scaling (not the specific numbers, just the fact that there IS scaling there unlike what I expected), this is an improvement.
I'm curious as to how many Silver Serpents it'll take to upgrade his ultimate just once.
I went on lolwiki and according to the PBE the 100% AP ratio is staying. I'm perfectly ok with that due to the 100% missing health scaling is added after a nerf to the base values.
His E is worded kinda weirdly. From what I can tell it does 100% AD, bonus damage to champions, and ignores 60% armor and applies a slow?
His ultimate is just a flat out buff. Greater duration, greater damage, greater DPS. It's everything I coulda asked for. Although they may want to consider buffing fire at will, because right now Death's Daughter blows it out of the water (pun fully intended.)
Hey, The reason it says (the attack) is because he can parrley a barrel to explode it with that damage. (Yes crits apply), (no shiv doesn't), (yes that means you can plunder a whole minion wave with 1 barrel and 1 parrley). :)
That makes me moister than an oyster.
500 per upgrade, every time (getting multiple upgrades doesn't increase the cost of the other upgrades). If you can get yourself 1500 extra gold off of your Q, you can get all three upgrades. You need to kill between 375 and 188 minions with Q (probably about 230-240 average) to get enough silver serpents for all three upgrades, but as little as between 125 and 63 for just one.
It'll be a rare occasion to get all three, but getting 1 upgrade by mid game and another before late game would be plausible if you play GP decently.
Is it possible to allow you to Q the barrels?
I feel like this is something you should be able to do.
Oh you can DEFINITELY Q the powder keg. This is basically the point. If the barrel kills multiple minions when you Q, you get parrrley gold for all of them. BANK
Does his Q apply his passive since one of its most unique point is that it is coded as a melee attack
Q does not apply the passive (it's sword attacks only) but it still applies other melee effects like tiamat or melee iceborn gauntlet proc.

TRINITY FORCE IS DISAPPOINT
it's sword attacks only
but what if I have 100% crit? (HIS CRIT ANIMATION IS STILL WITH HIS GUN, RIGHT???????????????????????????)
it still applies other melee effects like tiamat or melee iceborn gauntlet proc.
Not to be pendantic (well, maybe a little bit), but why?
Gangplank is a melee champion, so his on-hit effects are melee on-hit effects. It's just that some of them are ranged.
That makes about as much sense to me as Kayle proccing Tiamat.
kayle can proc tiamat but only when useing meele attacks parley does extra damage but does meele on hit effects
Well, duh. I'm talking about how E disables it.
its totally the same 1 basic attack agmenting spell that gives range is the same as a spell that fires and does effects that a basic attack would do on a meele champion
but doesnt
crit with his gun does that mean that crits wount apply passive and if crits can apply why cant q.
just gonna milk this logic for all i can

BANKPLANK EVEN HARRRRRDEEEERRRRR
One For All Gangplank, anyone?
If that barrel doesn't have AP ratio, I will be very sad.
I SHALL CHECK THAT.
I HAVE PBE. I NEED TO CHECK THAT.
It doesn't. It deals the same damage as whatever attack you used to destroy it + a pretty high base damage. No ratios on it at all besides the fact that it deals whatever you used to kill it as its damage + the bonus.
So I'm not sure yet but I'm pretty sure you can parrrley crit a barrel to deal massive amounts of dumb damage in an AoE.
Oh and it ignores 60% of affected target's armor. Ouch.
So what if you killed it with a lich bane Q?!
...kidding. does total AD + some damage on champions. GP is disabled on PBE unfortunately.
Eh, idk if it's total AD. It specifically says "dealing the attack's damage". It doesn't have a ratio or anything. It literally says the damage of the last attack. So I assume that includes parrrley crits. Which means critplank just got quite the buff.
Also I'd assume by "the attack's damage" that also includes sheen, tri, ice, lich and runeglaive procs. Also statikk shiv.
I think it just takes it all and converts it to physical damage that ignores 60% armor
After playing it, I can confirm how it works. Basically, it deals exactly the damage your AA would have done. This means that if your attack were to be a crit, you get a crit in the aoe of your barrel/barrels. This also means that you can apply Spellblade to all people damaged by the barrel. Not sure how it interacts with Runeglaive or Lichbane yet.
They'd probably be good anti-dive tools as well.
I just wanna know how fast you can put them up. Can you quickly put one behind your opponent, one next to yourself, and detonate it? Also I think its a bit of a shame that ally's can't activate it.

I believe the detonation time scales with level, so at max rank it sets itself as fast as the preview video for the ability. Seeing as how your Parrrley scales with full AD, I see no reason not to level the barrels first :)
I would love to just wait in a bush with like 10 barrels, a guy walks in and I yell "MONKEYS IN A BARREL!" as I blow them all up.
...I'm a bit too excited.
