What are opinions on classifying "intentional feeding"?

What's your opinion on classifying intentional feeding? Is it only when someone trolls? Or is it when someone explicitly keeps trying to fight someone they know they can't beat? Moreso, trying to fight someone they know they can't 1v1, even as someone is coming for help?

I want to know what others think about intentional feeding, and what's considered "intentional" and what's not.

Intentional feeding is running into something that you have 0 chance of winning. If you get tower dove however after dying a few times, that is not intentional. Intentional is only when you force something to happen and there is no likelihood of you getting a positive outcome.

Basically this.

IMO intentional feeding is repeated poor play that results in your death. It doesn't even need to be intentional trying to give kills to the enemy - but a blatant disregard to your power level and abilities. If you are 1v1ing someone after you've given them two kills in lane and you are down levels - fighting them should be considered intention feeding IMO. If you continue to counter jungle though you have been wrecked twice already by enemies in the past 5 minutes that qualifies too. IMO - I'd rather be cussed out regularly by my team mates than have to have 1 intentional feeder in 5 games on my team. More needs to be done to stop the feeding in ranked.

Not listening to you team when they say to back off and just XP farm after 3 deaths. Then going 0/11/0 in the lane phase. At the point where your whole team has offered advice and your going directly against the advice. You may not be trolling but at that point your intentionally feeding.

trying to fight someone when you cant win is required to learn the game so you know your limits and your scaling. i know its annoying but its literally the only way to learn the matchup properly.

Intentionally feeding only counts when someone comes to the lane sits there and dies to the enemy champion without doing anything or goes under their turret repeatedly with no minions. Most people report this for the wrong reason, doing poorly is not intentionally feeding and will never result in a ban.

Being bad at the game is not reportable.

Dying to lane opponent is not intentional feeding.

Neither is trying to 1v1 him. Neither is not grouping. Neither is not taking objectives.

Intentional feeding is what it sound like - intentionally trying to lose the game.

Intentional feeding is by definition when a player wants to feed the enemy and does so. "Not listening to your teammates" is not intentional feeding, even if your teammates are right. Because anyone can give bad advice and then report for intentional when you don't follow it.

It's not intentional feeding so long as THE FEEDER believes that they are doing what will help the team win. It doesn't matter how you see it. So long as the feeder thinks they're helping, it's not intentional feeding. If you think grouping is the best strategy, but they disagree and say split pushing will work better, you can't report them for feeding even if they die a lot. If they build Manamune on Lucian, ask them why. If they say something like "because I keep running out of mana", they aren't intentionally feeding even if they're doing poorly. They're doing what they believe will win them the game, EVEN IF THEY'RE WRONG.

I only report for intentional feeding if ONE of the following conditions occur:

  1. The person built item 3117 and started stacking movespeed items and is suicide rushing on respawn.
  2. The person is violating the AP Garen Rule.
  3. The person is openly admitting to feeding.
  4. The person builds two of the same UNIQUE Passive. item 3086 item 3022 etc.

Basically, the AP Garen Rule (or sometimes AP Vayne Rule) says that you get banned if you build AP Garen or AP Vayne. When your champion has no scaling off of a stat and you build that stat, you're in violation. Stacking mana on a manaless champion, building AD on a champion with no AD scalings or auto attack steroids, building AP on a champion with no AP scalings, etc. It does NOT include sub-optimal builds. It only includes four things:

  1. Building AD on a champion with no AD scalings or auto-attack steroids.
  2. Building AP on a champion with no AP scalings.
  3. Building mana (with the exception of item 3057 and anything that builds from it) on manaless champions.
  4. Building critical strike or attack speed on a champion with no auto-attack steroids or abilities that gain power from critical strike or attack speed. (Caitlyn passive gains power from crit, and Yasuo Q gains power from attack speed)

When people confuse intentional feeding with just being bad at the game, it makes me angry. We were all noobs once. Also, we've all seen power spikes happen. Riven is a prime example of this. You're laning against a Riven. You get three kills to zero against her. All of a sudden, she comes back to lane and wrecks you and snowballs from there. If Riven hadn't done that fight, as you're suggesting you would report her for doing, she'd stay behind, but instead she carries and wins the game. Because they've seen it happen, people think that it will happen to them. When they finish a top-tier item, it does happen (sometimes not to the degree they expect but it still happens). This is especially true of item 3031 item 3089 item 3004 item 3003 and some other items that have a very powerful effect that isn't on the previous items.
