When is Tryndamere facing his rework?

So yeah this is basically the X'th rant about X champ however seriously Tryndamere is one of the biggest offenders when it comes to unhealthy gameplay in LoL. And yeah yeah I get it "in high elo he isn't OP because of CC" but what people seem to forget is most people aren't in Diamond+ and people in low elo don't give a crap about what they want to pick or even how to itemize. Couple that with soloq being an uncoordinated place of chaos and I think it becomes a little clear how Tryndamere can thrive and be a low elo nightmare.

  1. His ENTIRE design philosophy is basically to be like a minion or rather sperm. He only know 1 direction and 1 mission and that is to PUSH TOPLANE. Like sperm or minions he will only go foward to reach this one goal. I know this seems weird to compare him to sperm but quite frankly speaking I cannot find a better description for this champ. This is not intended to be an insult to this champ ( I know it sounds like it but I just wanted to say how 1 note the champ really is ).

  2. He for some reason gets rewarded for playing poorly. Why? The lower he gets the more AD he gains due to his q. But why? It invites people to want to get poked just so they get more AD to then all in the opponent with it. Giving him a BF sword for being punished is stupid period. I bet if this was on ANY other champ people would be complaining a lot more.

  3. All ins of Tryndamere early game are some of the dumbest in the game. They can be some of the worst or best, why? Oh because he casually gets like what? 30% crit at lvl 2 at full fury? ( I would love for somebody to tell me the specific numbers! Me scrub :P ) It makes him super dice rolly and we all love random luck involved in hour day to day LoL gameplay do we? No we don't I think nobody thinks it's fun to play against Zoe and her random W drops. And though a controversial one Yasuo at the very least gets some downside for getting double crit chance. His lvl 6 is also extremely gross because he also just gains invulnerability for 5 whole seconds? And it doesn't scale? wonderful just....The amount of times where you can just 1v2 or 3 fights pretty hilarious. It would at the very least be nice if Riot made this ability scale with skill points but instead Tryndamere can just skill it once and then forget it.

  4. On this specific champ you don't need map awareness as much as on other champs. He has for some reason of the best type of mobility a champion can have in his basic abilities? A low CD skill shot dash that can be used to get over terrain, deals a decent amount of damage and gets reset by 1 second each time he crits? Say what you will about older champs not having as much mobility as newer more overloaded champs but Tryndamere had some insane mobility for 10 years basically. On top of that his ult makes it very hard to punish him when he does actually find himself overextending.

  5. His W doesn't make sense in his kit. He gets a 40% slow to chase down targets and stick on them to reset his dash more easily? Okay cool but that doesn't play into his diver playstyle that well. ( I don't think the ability is broken or anything I just think it's out of place but I might be wrong )

I'm all for beginner friendly champs such as Annie or Nasus but these 2 at least teach you proper map awareness.... I think there are countless people that complain about new Mordekaiser and his ultimate. Tryndamere is basically that but on steroids as you can't qss to get away [cass-cry].

I have to be honest I love playing this champ from time to time but even I can see that it's not very well thought out or even balanced.

Please give him a rework.

The worst part about Tryndamere is that it's so unforgiving to EVER fall behind against him. Give him a single kill, and he'll be tower diving you for days. You get a lead and he's escaping everything you throw because of his ult and spin.

same can be said for garen... just got out of a match were he killed me at 60% health under tower for my first 3 deaths... ps I was Mord…

exactly it's very awful to play with or against. Hope when he does get a rework it will be an amazing one he is a pretty cool character

Friendly reminder, apart of slow, his W reduce your AD for 80 or so

Just remove the nosense that he can ulti while CCed. So you can burst him if he get caught

So... you don't like this champion and are posting your complaints on the boards to find people to validate the opinion you already have.

Tryndamere is just fine the way he is - the fact that he's so simple means you have no excuse for not being able to play against him.

just to quote me "I have to be honest I love playing this champ from time to time but even I can see that it's not very well though out or even balanced." No I do not in fact hate this champ however he is just a very very bad kind of stat stick. Did you actually read the thread or just the first few words and the title?

No in fact I'd prefer my mind being changed but you for example haven't made any solid argument to debunk my thread. Saying he is "fine" can mean a multitude of different things. Like in what elo are you playing in? What type of champ do you play? etc. etc.

In low elo which was specifically what I was referring to because it's like 60% or more of the player base he is a balance nightmare kind of like Master Yi.

Have you seen a Dr Mundo? Trynda can be burst down and die but Mundo.... even with executioners, morelo, and thornail in the team, he just goes in press R fight and then walks out alive. Rinse and repeat. I think Dr Mundo is a way bigger offender of the stat stick philosophy and he probably reworked first before Trydamere.

Both Tryndamere and Dr. Mundo are listed in the same group - "Survive the Ulti for 10 seconds" type of champions.

Mundo is easy to kill though, even with his R. Just have % max health damage (BotRK does count since its current health) and some pen. Or have true damage. Trynd on the other hand, doesnt die if he presses R, and maximizes Last Stand's bonus for that period. That means that if you cant survive his counterattack for a second, hes going to rip you apart even if you won previous trades to get him low.

Debunk your thread? Your thread is incoherent.

  1. This in no way makes the case for him being good or bad, is merely a descriptor for how he plays.

  2. Here you assert Tryndamere is rewarded for doing badly because he has a scaling AD to damage passive - this is just incorrect: this passive is actually very risky, because trying to fight at low health is a good way to be bursted down. You don't ever want to be at low health if you can help it on any champion including Tryndamere.

  3. This starts with you talking about his all ins then morphs into a rant about his crit-rage passive, then his ult. The best I can gather from this is that you think his all ins are inconsistent? Ok.

  4. You think he needs less map awareness because he's good at surviving and escaping, but so are lots of champions. What makes his ability to escape somehow less fair than any Zed other Fizz escaping LeeSin champion Kassadin .

  5. Here you say that a slow makes no sense on a melee auto-attack focused champion.

[zombie-brand-facepalm]

Now, insofar as the champ is strong in low elo, that's a consequence of his simple and straightforward toolkit combined with the general lack of skill of his low elo opponents. To which the solution is: become a better player.

So, the reason why I didn't debunk your thread is because there's nothing TO debunk. You didn't present any actual evidence to suggest that Tryndamere is bad, just a bunch of rambling nonsense. Writing lots of words and enumerating things doesn't mean you have an argument, especially when you don't even stick to your own point.

First of

  1. Yeah I did want to present how he plays because literally any other champ can do so much more than push forward to hit tower.

  2. Well my dude you seem to forget that he can mitigate that down side with his ult.

  3. Yes I was talking about how shitty his all ins are and can feel for anyone even the player playing Tryndamere which has something to do with his passive. He gains like 35% crit chance at level 1/2 and when he all ins it has nothing to do with skill but mere luck. I didn't quite explain why I then compared his crit rage passive to Yasuo is because Tryndamere gets 50 crit for free without any downsides attached to it what so ever. Yasuo at least has to build Crit items first to even utilize it and it's damage is reduced by 40% at all times.

  4. but unlike the champs you listed he can dash every 6 seconds which solidifies his slipperiness.

  5. Alright you know what? Point taken

  6. A champ can be strong in low elo but this champ is a low elo plowing machine.....there is such a thing as an OP low elo champ most people don't want to acknowledge it however.

Oh almighty all knowing master of LoL Share your wisdom with us on how to beat Tryndamere in lane and how to stop him from breaching inhibitor once he gets item 3181

Ragnaveil4 votes

just dont die to him 4head

JedenVojak1 votes

If you want to beat Tryndamere, only engage him in melee when his rage bar is low. Poke him constantly - punish him for farming at every opportunity. He's safer to hit in the early game because his attack speed is pretty low so it's much easier to hit him at low rage. Once he hits lvl six, save whatever CC move you have for when he ults - when he roars just CC him and back off just out of his range if you can manage it... when his rage expires is the perfect time to kill him, as he probably already used his spin to try to all in you, and doesn't have any outs.

Tryndamere needs to stand next to you and keep hitting you in order to do damage, and he needs to farm. Block him from these things and you'll cripple him. He'll eventually be able to farm back up, but you should have crushed one of his turrets and be helping your team close out the game from this point. He'll try to split push so come back with a couple of team mates every so often to kill him - he really can't deal with multiple foes very well as long as you save your CC for his ulti.

If you're a tank, try to build an early thornmail early as it will really punish his early engages, and leave lane to help your team when he starts to get scary. If you're an offensive champ though, don't start buying defenses to try to counter him: Trynd is basically an ADC champ, and they're designed to punch through tanks.

Remember the Tryndamere strat is; auto attack, build up rage bar, engage. Don't feed him kills and annoy him, get him to mess up, and you win.

Towers should bypass his ult and kill him.

The whole "just CC him" doesn't make tons of sense to me, because you basically have to chain 2 CCs. One to burst him and the second while he ults ... Otherwise he'll just E away or massacre your team

If you CC to burst him and place ignite on him, he has to choose to ult to trade 1 for 1, which is fair assuming somehow your team only has a single CC in the comp, which is BS. List of CC roles: jungle, supports, top laners, CC mages. If Vayne/Cait/Jinx/Xayah, add another CC to the bunch.

What's more, by the moment your team gets GA, he becomes useless because his ult is not coming back when he kamikazes into your backline.

What I read in these forums are essentially people who want to preserve the ranged supremacy, because that's currently what rules in high elo, LCS, and world championships.

When was the last time you saw an assassin besides Qiyana or Akali compared to the fountain of CC mages and even tristana mid (which it's atrocious that tristana and lucian are even allowed to function in mid or top lane, or Vayne/Vlad/Quinn top lane). Virtually all the games are determined by the winning bot lane, because there is no counterplay to right click scaling damage from ADC's on top of PD+GA, support+jungle CC spam to keep them peeled.

If ranged players would have their way, melee champions would be little better than minions because somehow one of the few champs that can dive a backline successfully and make top lane relevant is considered toxic.

With Tryndamere it's easy. His spin pushes the wave to your turret, so you can always freeze. Don't let yourself be poked down as he can all in you around 70%. Don't let him freely stack up fury after a trade, he can't crit you if you force him to use it on his heal. Time your CC for his turret dive or when the jungle ganks so you can get an easy kill.

Don't get cheesed early lv2-3 and you'll be fine on most top laners if you wave control properly and let him push to you.

Let him stay as he is. Let the simple kit stay in the game. They will rework him like an akali and he will be more op than ever. His mobility wasn't that broken before, but right now with free acces to 40% cdr ofc he has a mobility with his e. The league by itself made trynd more broken adding free 20% cdr to all types of items lmao.

Trynd players need map awareness, all spliting people need it.

His W makes a perfect sense of his design. He is a fucking fearless barbarian who want's to fight, u must face him and prove yourself that u are not a coward lmao.

His only way to deal with guys is Auto Attack, there are several champions which reduce effect of aa, also items.

Trynd is counterable or have fair match upsJax Nasus Teemo KledFiora maybe some great wave clear mages Ryze Anivia , U don't even have to go out of the lane with these champions, u just have your mind game with tryndamere on top, and it's usually dependant on a team who will win the game lmao.

Top lane is the least impactfull lane in the game, but the most skillful along jungle. U have to know your match ups, U must be the sage of top lane champions and know what they do. How to play vs counter, how to actually avoid jungler, so he won't wreck your lane to the end with a single gank, U almost keep fighting 24/7 with enemy top laner if u both are melee, u have to look at the wave to push or freeze. If u learn to play one champion and his match ups it becames easier to play. Even on lower elo, trynd is not unstoppable.
