because of players like me even toxic players will get honor

and that is because I do not need it to cover the entire bloody client that's just obnoxious, so the fastest way for me to get rid of it isn't to go to the tiny button on the bottom but just randomly click someone for honor, they could have gone 0/999/0 with 6 zeals and they will have gotten honor, they could have flamed literally all game long and they would have still gotten honor because I hate this obnoxious honor covering the entire client

that's your personal problem then and you shouldn't blame riot. They made it more visible to encourage honoring because before almost no one honored anyone and it didn't make a difference. Your laziness shouldn't be the reason to change a now much better honor system.

Although this is true, I still feel a lot like OP. I'm not gonna really use this honor system. I don't honor people because I thought they deserved it but more because hey big pop up! Go away!

There is a button to make it go away, so why do you have to click on someone and give then honour to close it? It's all the same, 1 click away from closing it, the only difference is whether or not you've honoured someone, so if you don't want to, then press the button dedicated to closing the pop-up?

I don't get it.

It takes more conscious effort to decide not to honor someone, move my mouse down, and focus on clicking a small button, especially when I'm feeling a little tired from the game.

However after a series of ARAMs, I'm getting into the habit of clicking that arrow thingy. Soon I won't have to hink about it at all.

This can be expanded to a lot of the playerbase.

then again they could simply implement a toggle system and voila problem solved, I know friends of mine who do the same, just randomly click something to get rid of the annoying screen
