Can Jayce build item 3077 and item 3085, though?

Now I'm curious.

meowwow723 votes

he can build both but depending on which form he's using is which passive is used

Lil Homie busta4 votes

And the effect will depend on his current form. He can buy tiamat while melee, but it will not proc if he switch to ranged i guess.

3TWarrior2 votes

the items can be bought independent of attack type, however their effects will only activate on the respective type, reducing their gold value

Runaan's was a bit more flexible when it had 70% attack speed I think, but the critical chance does add SOME stats to ranged attacks

LordGeovanni1 votes

I wish it worked like that for everyone i could have used item 3085 when it had 70% attack speed on some melee champions even without the passive Jax DrMundo MasterYi Olaf Trundle Skarner YorickAatrox Braum

Same thing works for Gnar , but things get weird since you can't even buy item 3077 OR item 3074 item 3748 unless you are in mega form.

It should work just the same as how Kayle interacts with hurricane only with her e active.

He can but it's like Kayle. When they're melee only item 3077 works but when they're ranged only item 3085 works.

Yes. Jayce is both melee and ranged, like Nidalee. They can build both. (I saw a nidalee adc going runaan's once... they lost)

That's actually not a bad idea.

Actually, we need to remove Duskblade from the game.

Being able to go invisible is already a huge advantage. We don't need to be able to one shot just because we can go invisible.

Right now, any champion that can go invisible can automatically one shot. This is dumb.

Riot, get rid of the item, it's a great start toward balancing back the dumb changes made in season 8. You have removed other items from the game that were far less overpowered and unbalancing. As it stands now, Duskblade wins every game. This is a problem for the game.

Stormrazor is dumb too, on certain champions it allows one shot. Nerf it, or better yet remove it, until you can figure out how to balance its impact in the game. Stormrazor is a good example of how NOT to implement new items, before they are properly tested.

jayce would still be abled to get duskblade lol

Seer of Mind1 votes

only when in melee form

My Waifu Vanilla2 votes

Which is when he bursts you anyway.....the change literally does nothing and if anything would be a psuedo buff since if it disables EVERYTHING but the stats then he can constantly run around in cannon form unless he wants to clear wards. Then he switches to hammer and has an "on demand" duskblade detector that won't get tripped by some random ward in the middle of nowhere.

OP you need to read riots post in the dev corner, they already stated that they are looking into stackable burst items like triforce+stormrazor+duskblade+static etc.

Stormrazor and duskblade in particular look like their damage proc passive´s are going to be made mutually exclusive.

AirKingNeo3 votes

or just make them unique

no reason to random nerf MF.

Tristanl0l16 votes

riot already said theyre gonna do this

Votable Jester1 votes

Let's see how that affects things first then before throwing further restrictions?

DKM Bismarck1 votes

Riot didn't explicitly state that they're gonna do this. Only that they might, amongst like 3 different changes for Duskblade. I haven't seen the change go onto the PBE yet or anything.

Lil Homie busta2 votes

I think MF, just like Jhin, has been a little too strong over the season (with some small windows of time as exception). Lethality MF has been consistently strong for months now. A nerf wouldn't be bad news. Besides, i can't see a future where Duskblade's proc damage and MF's Q have a healthy interaction.

Gear5Luffy5 votes

the problem is they nerfed crit and closed her crit options she cant go any crit item and be viable before she had essence and IE to rush and it worked but now its only lethality

Honestly as far as I can remember I always felt MF should go trinity force. Especially when it had AP. Btw she can use Stormrazor. It literally procs her second shot crit EVERY TIME because the second shot "can crit" making the bounce ALWAYS crit, meaning you don't need minions to be almost dead anymore. It also synergizes with her passive really well(well her W now).

Kaìju1 votes

They need to shift some of her power to late game and nerf her early for her to go crit. She has the same niche as Lucian, you do a lot early then kinda drop off in comparison. If they want to adjust her, her late should be upped and her early reduced.

People really need to get it through their thick skulls that storm razor is an assassin item. Marksmen need to stop claiming items... As a marksman, theres one situation where you should be taking storm razor: When youre already ahead and want to secure that lead with higher burst damage. Otherwise, its an awful item when infinity edge exists and has been tailored explicitly for marksmen.

Meanwhile on assassins, storm razor is the replacement for infinity edge which almost every assassin who didnt build bruiser used to finish their build with. Hell its passive screams "IM FOR CASTERS".

ForFoxSakes2 votes

Your claim is so damn wrong. Marksmen want the stormrazor bc all non on hit ADCs want damage and speed, and this is one of the only items that gives that, and its super cheap, and its a huge power spike once you get it to heavily win trades if you get it first. A lot of assassins are casters who dont need the attack speed, while auto attackers do want the speed

Okay im gonna start with saying this - marksman are not the only champions who want attack speed and AD. Every AD burst champion wants those stats. Your reasoning here also proves my point - you want it when ahead to solidify a lead. When behind, its clearly a dang liability because you wont burst as hard as the other person and your DPS isnt going to be as high as theirs. Your reasoning is exactly how you get the stupid marksmen of a few months ago when they would do extremely high burst per second.

Storm razor is an item that is very, VERY clearly meant for champions with assassin-esque playstyles who dont want DPS and instead want burst. It is not meant for champions like jinx, but do you understand why people buy it on her? People buy it on her, and its a high winrate item, because on regular marksmen its a snowball item that secures an existing lead. Due to the nature of a marksman it can be a viable item on them... But just like many other items, it clearly isnt meant for them in the same way that their other marksman-only items are.

Lets just.. Math. By the time i have my start of item 1038 item 3006 item 3087 my enemy usually has item 3095 item 3006.

Lets say were both level 18 with just the afore mentioned items. I have 1.5asp to their 1.0ASP, and lets say i have 130AD to their 155AD. 310 damage to 260 465 damage to 390 610 damage to 520+130 (650) (Additional auto due to higher attack speed) 765 damage to 910 (Assuming 1/5 autos crit)

You see where this is going? They did more burst damage, but the item falls way behind on the DPS output. It is not a marksman item.

Literally the worst math i've ever seen on these boards and that's saying something.

It was meant as an optional item for ADC's who want an early powerspike.

Oooor... It was meant as a replacement item for assassins who lost the burst damage of IE when it was reworked and made exclusive to marksmen. If you just... take a step back and look at the champions who utilize it best you really see what i mean. And im not talking about "99% Win rate storm razor jinx!"; im talking about champions who consistently utilize it as intended. Quinn Graves Lucian Draven Jhin. Among them, theyre all assassin-esque in playstyle or casters.

FixHealsRemoveGW4 votes

There is no "oooor". Assassins are free to use these items as well, but then they have to invest into attack speed and the passive isn't gonna be as strong, because they also decided to make it scale with crit chance to make this item more attractive on ADC's.

You can read the patch notes instead of creating your own narrative about what items are meant for: https://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/news/game-updates/patch/patch-811-notes#patch-items

8.11 brings a bunch of changes to marksman items and runes, as well as base stat shifts across the roster. We're opening the door for** non-crit builds** to shine by adding or reworking new tools for spellslingers and** lane bullies** alike, and by reining in lane sustain to make early aggression a more effective path to victory. Many of these options should be pretty appealing to AD fighters and assassins as well, so make sure to check the changes out regardless of your lane preference.

Stormrazor

Marksman itemization is pretty focus on marksmen who want to stand still and basic attack. With Stormrazor, we're introducing an item for marksmen with longer pauses between attacks, whether they're kiting or just have long attack cooldowns (looking at you, Jhin)

I think the original intention was that Stormrazor would be an earlygame item for crit ADCs to give them some trading potential against lane bullies. It's got no lethality and gives AS, things that assassins dislike. Problem is of course that AD assassins still have high AD so the automatic crit still has a lot of value for them. Then add in Duskblade to stack on top of it and you have a problem.

Making these two unable to stack should fix the problem because without the stackable Stormrazor + Duskblade procs Stormrazor holds pretty much no value for the vast majority of assassins (Rengar and Nocturne aside, but those would have to choose between Stormrazor and Duskblade as well). Lethality marksmen like MF would also need to make a choice between going for a spellslinger (Duskblade) and auto-attack (Stormrazor) based build.

This. Just make them unable to stack with each other. Or even better, make none of the "on next auto attack" items stack (so you can't stack them with triforce or shiv either.).

Edit: well, make an exception for Stormrazor with Shiv/ RFC since those items seem pretty much meant to be purchased together. The rest however... no.

Making them share passive is better imo. It gives more variety in builds.

Lil Homie busta3 votes

I think it's because item 3095's icon being katana-looking sword and Yasuo being a ronin. Just like people who think that item 3085 is core on Ashe because of it being a bow.

Kinda understand his logic, but no. Stormrazor is and will always be terrible on Yasuo. Zerk and PD is all AS Yasuo needs, besides, he can get 100% crit chance easy, the passive becomes kinda irrelevant.

Automated Riven8 votes

Runnans is core on ashe because of her passive being able to psudo root three players. It has nothing to do with the icon.

Bjørnetjenesten2 votes

"psudo root"

thats quite a loaded interpretation

Automated Riven1 votes

It's a little bit hyperbole. But I was intending to make a point rather them be 100% factual. But a 100% crit ashe I think has a 60% slow on her auto attacks and it's very very effective at not allowing people to move very far for quite a while.

JedenVojak1 votes

Why would you have a ranged-only katana?

JAYCCCCCCCCCCCCE1 votes

I dont even build Duskblade on Jayce anymore. I go a secret build that allows me to 1v3 enemies. Its on my main account so i dont wanna leak it, because then every jayce will run it and it will get nerfed.

Also making duskblade melee only jayce can still use. If we are hiding in a brush to assassinate you, we'll just press w in ranged form then go into hammer form, hop on you, auto which procs the duskblade passive, and then back to ranged form. Or if we just want to shockblast you, wed just Q+E+R really fast which would give us duskblade's stats.
