@Riot the Renketon Bar, where it go?
So mid season 4 the buzz phrase that Riot invented was the Renketon bar/rule. It basically said that this is the level of top laners should be balenced around. Now this was not a 1 to 1 thing. If they had more early game champs were supposed to fall of harder late ect. It was about theoretical total power budget. This was supposed to be the base that the top lane would measured by and in theory trickle down to other lanes.
So now Riot wants to buff Renketon. I am all for balance changes, but what happened to the bar? The fact that mages are leaving mid to go top shows a design problem. The bar was supposed not be moved and champions were supposed to be balanced around him.
So why are we (league of legends) changing this philosophy after 6 months? In my opinion i think the bar has done what we want. We are seeing power budget issues showing up. Mages are moving cause they are more powerful than there counter parts. You do not move the bar it ruins the measurement system. You nerf those that are above the bar to preserve the bar.
Now I know people hate nerfs and prefer buffs. I am not really pro buff/nerf, I just believe in what ever needs to be done. Though i am against changing the measurement metric. So what are people thought on this? Should the BAR be changed? Is the bar working showing a greater issue in the game? Something else i did not think of?
If a Rioter takes a look, WHY!?
