Ashe: I'm sorry, but is this the worst champion?

1 Wing··5 votes·969 views

Ashe was previously not well considered as a strong pick.

After briefly dueling the enemy ADC, and getting hit by a real crit, my only thought was "wow, can I do that much damage?. . . Oh, no?" Her passive would need to be brutally more damaging to be competitive. As it is, building crit is just building junk on her, since IE is the wrong choice.

What do you even build on Ashe now to be reasonable? Zeal is too low damage, Bloodthirster's too expensive, IE doesn't work first. . .

IE works just fine. The bonus crit damage comes over. Also the crit chance boosts ashes damage. Its probably the best early game buy for her.

You have to rush IE first...why would you not rush it...

I've been going item 3031 item 3006 item 3142 item 3046 for some awesome dueling.

yeah that's what I typically go, and then BT or Bork and a BC, since her q instantly procs 5 stacks of bc

her passive is much more reliable than rng and ashe has never been an adc that has dueling potential. If you want that take a look at vayne amd graves

You say that as if you've tried it out, but in the recent Ashe games you have with her, you didn't even bother to build IE in the first place.

her passive scales off crit now bro

what why would you not build crit on her?

Random carry with 100% crit and IE (not saying you'll get to 100 but just to make a point): autoattacks do 250% damage Ashe with 100% crit and IE : aas do 315% damage (her base 110% + 100% from crit chance)*(1.5 from IE)

ModWulf Helhammer1 votes

That's not how it works on Ashe. Check the wiki, it has the equation used to calculate her "critical strike" damage

LegendaryLemur1 votes

oh yeah i guess the base damage doesnt get multiplied so it should be (her base 110%) + (100% from crit chance)*(1.5 from IE) = 260%

oh so its just like normal crits yeah nvm

Again, that's not how it works. Here is the equation: 10 + (%Critical Strike Chance × (1 + Bonus Critical Strike Damage)) % AD

So with IE, which has 20% critical strike chance, and 50% percent bonus critical strike damage, it means: 10 + (20% X (1 + .5)) = 40% bonus damage

The 260% increase only happens if you have 100% critical strike chance from your build and have IE

Not sure if you are reading my post correctly. I'm calculating if ashe and the other adcs's have 100% critical strike chance, not 20%.

ModWulf Helhammer1 votes

Yes, but you have to build up 100% crit chance, so Ashe doesn't just start with 100% crit

Yes hence the "(not saying you'll get to 100 but just to make a point)" in my first post.
