Shouldn't celestial body go to the resolve tree instead of the inspiration tree?

I mean, how is 100 extra hp considered something unique that ''bends the game rule''? I'm pretty sure there's room for a better mastery than that.

Inspiration tree is centered around unique tools, gold generation, and items, not extra health. that's durability! I have an idea, why not implement something like that :

Panic! When health goes below X%, increase movespeed by X% for X seconds. (X cooldown)

Either way, it's a terrible mastery.

Universally? I disagree. It's nice for Tank Supports who aren't looking to take kills but need early game tankiness.

You just said it! ''Tank support''. Clearly that mastery should be in the resolve tree and not inspiration then :/

It's an off-tree option? If it went to Resolve, what would you take in the Inspiration tree? It's also a nice way to get free boots, a MS boost, and less concern about GI item, SS, or Boots dilemma.

Approach Velocity is a better option imo. You want to be near your allies when he's getting caught. And yeah, I would take the free boots. I usually take inspiration tree just for extra movespeed and cooldown reduction

because it is paired with 2 options that will get picked over it nearly 100% of the time.

+5% CDR on everything is a great rune on just about everyone, and Approach velocity is great on CC tanks or peel supports.

Celestial body falls under the "I have a weak laning phase, and all I want to do is survive it" category of things. And with short games, picking a champ with poor laning phase just doesnt really happen

if it was an paired with the mr and armor by the 10 min mark it would make more sense. early safety or mid game streanght

Plus the fact that it doesn’t go down in cd like magical footwear. It’s honestly just a debuff all around.

Now what if the rune literally just let you avoid unit collision? I’d take it in a heartbeat.

i totally agree, but i could say the same with ghost poro/zombie ward, both in a tree supposed to give target access and damage (actually it could be NEGATING vision or being able to spot my target, but giving vision in this way is not what i call "target access") that feels more like inspiration

waterwalking (in a tree supposed to give ability and resource manipolation) as well feels in the wrong place (it'd be cool in inspiration)

cheap shot would be better in sorcery (which assassin/burst champion will dps you while perma CCing you?) or at least they should rework it in a % damage amplifier on CC'ed targets (it'd be taken over sudden impact so it wouldn't increase the damage over the board)

idk if it's just me,but am i the only who think that runes like triumph, presence of mind and coup de grace are better at snowballing and killing a single target than almost all domination runes? (a tree made for snowballing)

i think riot wanted to place them in a certain tree because they wanted to not to being able to stacking them too easily (at least not without giving up something)

for example if you are nasus and you want celestial body for your early you have to take inspiration as primary or secondary,if it'd be placed on resolve he could just pick resolve + any other secondary tree

I like it this way. Some tanks who use resolve primarily and inspiration secondly can get good bonus tankiness.

Celestial Body does have the unconventional effect of reducing your own damage output by 10% for the first 10 minutes. That's probably why it's on the Inspiration tree.

Hochelaga4 votes

Well ''conditioning'' also has that 10 minutes wait time before bonus kicks in :/

Waiting for stats isn't really unconventional, though. That's basically how stats as a whole work. You need to wait until you have the resources/enough time has passed to get them.

Actually reducing your own damage, though, is a quirk that only exists on Celestial Body and the active of Gargoyle Stoneplate.

Tell that to the Glacial Augment, which is also in Inspiration for some reason, while you're at it as well.

Even its name give off a clear vibe that it doesn't belong in a Rune category called "Inspiration" that supposedly "bends the rule". I have no idea why it's in there.

Well Glacial augment creates something unique with slow items, also that slow is not that annoying as you may think it is.

Still, the main and primary component feels like it belongs in Resolve or something. And even with its special interactions considered, it still doesn't feel like an Inspiration rune, because that kind of rule-bending (all runes are all technically rule-bending, just that Inspiration bends it in a different way to others, and on a more "fundamental" level) feels like it's comparable to say, zombie ward from Domination.

So I really don't believe Glacial Augment belongs in Inspiration tbh. But that's me.

So what other keystones should be in inspiration instead? If we narrow the definition of inspiration too much, then there just ceases to be an inspiration tree entirely.

We could switch Revitalize and Celestial Body?

Hochelaga1 votes

That could be very nice :3

I disagree.

Not every champions have kits that go well with the resolve tree. Alternatively, not every champion that could go resolve wants to have half his stats gained from his keystone pick to be butchered by second speccing in resolve.

Celestial body offers a way out for those champions as well as a nice middle ground : You can keep your stats and avoid being forced to pick runes that don't help you at the cost of losing 10% damage for 10 minutes. I'd call that bending the rules at least a little bit.

There's also the fact that if tanks could spec into Resolve, get Celestial body and have free choice over their second tree, they would be getting far too much stats lvl 1,

Panic sounds cool, you might have to make it so that it fell off if the person dealt or took damage, for balance, but that sounds super cool!

Please no, Resolve has enough garbage already.
