Discussion: Does anyone else feel like building full AP on Veigar is redundant?

Honestly, ever since his passive rework, honestly it just feels like building more than a RoA (Rod of Ages) on him is just overkill. You're constantly building up tons and tons of AP. From landing skills on champions and farming with your Q, getting assists and kills, you gain AP at a ridiculous rate.

I have had a game where the only AP item I had was a Rod of Ages, whilst the others were, Randuin's Omen, Spirit Visage, Warmogs, Locket, and Merc Boots and still had about the same AP as our Brand who had full build. So about 300-400AP instead of 900 - 1200AP. And yet, I still was doing tons of crazy damage. And still provided wave clear. Only now, the ADC simply couldn't fight me, because I could still just delete them, assassin's couldn't burst me down and overall I possessed massive wall of both damage and tankiness that forced them to ether pile over me, or... just not fight altogether.

Everytime I play Veigar in any role, I build him tanky, grabbing one AP item and then stacking on Health/MR/Armor. And each time I did it, the enemy team was always so confused.

So my question to you guys who play Veigar. Do you guys think that stacking tons of AP on him is just overkill? Or still vital to his kit? :o

the tank stats are cool and all but if you build one ap item and they dont let the game scale like any good team would fighting a viegar you will do nothing in a team fight. You become a tank that does a bit of damage nothing more than that in theory it works but you have to have time to get your passive stacks but it never actually changed because you have to land abilities on enemies for the new one but you still just mostly stack on minions. So you are like a worse version of nasus in that way since you dont get your Q on a 4sec cd and you are skill shot relent.

I honestly think that his passive should be changed so that stacks are not simply AP, but instead they grant him stacks of "Evil Power". After reaching set tiers of stacks he gains a percentage of bonus AP.

I would even make it so lower tiers grant larger percentages, and higher tiers offer less For example

Tier 1 = 20% Tier 2 = 15% Tier 3 = 10% Tier 4 = 8% Tier 5 = 5% Tier 6 = 3% Tier 7 = 2% Tier 8 = 1%

Or to have the number of stacks required to reach the next tier get larger per tier

Tier 1 = 1-4 stacks Tier 2 = 5-14 stacks Tier 3 = 15-29 stacks ... ... ,,,

Or both

And I do not intend for these to be the actual figures in order to be balanced, instead I'm using these as examples.

Ultimately, this would make it so he still has to actually build a massive amount of AP in order to be a monster, but he would still get a decent return from a decent amount of AP
