Why does everyone want me to play Leona?

I've had at least five games where someone wanted me to be Leona. I don't own her, so I can't do that of course. Why is this happening? Is she OP now or something?

Leona is a staple tank support. If you support you should have Leona. If you don't play Leona you should have an alternative that you play specifically as an alternative to leona

braum is not really a good substitute for Leona. He isn't a bad tank support but he isn't Leona either. Like at all.

They probably just wanted some frontline, since nobody likes playing tanks (for strange reasons). Alistar, Poppy, and Sion are some cheap tanks that can support, if you want to just round out your champion pool. Morgana is a decent tank, when built like one.

I wouldn't say she's OP. She's pretty balanced.

She's a really good engaging-tank, though.
