You take away Spellvamp from mages, and give it to Riven?

Unreformed Shaco··4 votes·735 views

Nice, just what we need.

Death's Dance was EXACTLY the item League of Legends needed, not like Lifesteal already exists.

Stupid %%%%s.

Cancerous pieces of shit like Riven already have low CDs, defensive shields/heals and strong auto attacks so that if they want sustain, they can build lifesteal.

Instead of taking the "It's too difficult to balance properly, so let's just remove it" approach, how about you do your fucking jobs.

It's not entirely Riven. She is just an example of these new Pseudotanks, who are balanced around their defensive abilities and mobilty, that the DD/tabi combo is just too much to get through, especially when they are healing so much because Lifesteal isn't capped.

Has it been a whole day since you made almost the same thread and got severly downvoted or two days?

CC riven and shes down

SirTeemoMushroom1 votes

what kind of CC takes her down exactly? because that was MY answer to the posts that said "nerf yasuo" and i only got hate

ReySolomon1 votes

Well I play a lot of Chogath silence really messes her up but if your teammates waste their CC on the support then obviously she's gonna kill your entire team

Unreformed Shaco1 votes

And while you are locking down Riven, their ADC goes on a rampage.

ReySolomon1 votes

in my ELO the ADCs are always 0-10 0-5 so they don't do that much DMG xD

SirTeemoMushroom1 votes

cho garth counters riven ...
and anyway cho garth is on the meta , and he has an ulimate that does 1 shot with TRUE damage ... lul

ReySolomon1 votes

True but when your teammates know who to cc you can win the game easily

SirTeemoMushroom1 votes

however.. even a normal player can outplay anyone with riven .. riven is easy to play and really strong .

ReySolomon1 votes

well what can we do? cry about it and get riot to ignore us?

Such wasted potential. You could have made a persuasive argument as to why death's dance is a problem, but instead you decided to spew hatred.

If Riven doesn't make you spew hatred, that's probably a good sign that you're evil...

HalcyonDweller2 votes

I took issue with this post because of the hate-spewing. I would welcome a well reasoned and properly constructed argument claiming that Death's Dance is a problem on Riven. This post just wasn't that.

The rational response to something aversive is not extreme hatred (or calling the thing evil), it is reflection and counterargument.

So anyone who does not side with the OP is automatically 'evil' and wrong?

That sounds like a very large and erroneous assumption.

Claiming that anyone who isn't as extreme as you is basically the same thing as how extremist cults or religious terrorists call the more moderate members of their parent religions infidels.

Please tell me more about how I am an evil infidel. :P

I am extremely against Nazism as well. By your logic claiming that the Third Reich was evil makes me a religious terrorist. Evil is evil, whether that's Adolf or Riven.

Pretty sure Riven never led a nation to commit genocide against a group of people....

The two things are incomparable.

You've misunderstood my argument.

Not really. The OP was basically arguing that fighters who rely on high mobility to stay alive while delivering damage should not also have access to enough sustain to cancel out their mistakes. Some defense is fine and needed, but they shouldn't be able to 1v5 if not cc'ed, is the argument in a nutshell. Rather than give

{quoted} a well reasoned and properly constructed argument

for or against this idea you attack their post by labeling it as

{quoted} hate-spewing

and thus attack the form of the argument rather than the actual message. I'll admit it, the OP's presentation was a little lackluster, but it's unfair to discredit their concerns simply because they didn't follow your preordained pattern for how posts should be constructed. The internet is full of threads with hate and no real substance, this thread had a legitimate argument somewhat obscured by emotions.

No you made that argument. The original post was so full of rage that it obscured any points they tried to make. Nobody listens to a post written with rage.

My argument is that if you want people to listen to you you should present your arguments without rage. Because nobody respects or cares about an opinion expressed with cusswords and hatred.

Unlike mages, Riven has to get up close to you unless you're so behind that she only needs to ult you. And not like these items exist the help solve the life-steal problem.

Good luck getting Riven below 30% for Morellos.

And getting in your face is SOOOO difficult when you have 4 Gapclose abilities on a <10 sec cd, not even including flash.

Grevious Wounds also does nothing to the 400 shield that happens every few seconds.

Rákãñ1 votes

Think about it, most of the champions that uses Morello has something that helps in the fight. From mobility, range, CC, and burst. And Riven is a duelist in a standard, so it's dumb to fight her 1v1. Its a team game, so group up and get a few picks off and force a team-fight at an objective for a hard push on their towers.

Teemo and Yasuo are not counters to Riven at all. In fact, Riven counters Yasuo, especially early game. The advantage begins to shift the long the game rolls on, because of how gold efficient Yasuo is, however. Still, Riven is very good at making sure Yasuo can't do anything by 15 minutes.

Panth and Jayce are good counters tho. So are Kennen, Poppy, Trundle, Olaf and Renekton. Panth falls off late game tho, so Riven just wants to survive the lane and not feed and by 30 minutes she'll still be more useful than Panth.

first off teemo in high elo=lol pant in high elo=lol yasuo=high ban rate gl getting him and jayce will fall off and she will shit on him.

if you are looking at websites for the counters I feel sorry for you. From my experience on destroying rivens the top counters are jax, galio and gnar.

Jax and Gnar is a skill matchup. Jax can't do anything to the Riven if she just walks away when he ults. I've had pretty consistent results against Jax, in fact.

Bud Light1 votes

jax would win either way o.0 I have never been beaten by a riven in lane as jax. he may not kill her because she can jump 4 fucking times but he can bully her out and win the lane pretty easily. If she all ins him then she dies. Gnar isn't a skill match up... get frozen mallet and you win. Gnar has poke and can just hop away when riven tries to go in. she has to basically flash to get on top of him. I'm talking about high elo match ups. Low elo don't understand matchups like this and it can go either way

Jax certainly beats the hell out of Riven in all in fights, but Riven with thunderlords doing hit and runs is a very different beast altogether. Jax wants to all in and Riven does not, so maybe if the Jax builds frozen mallet and some item with the rage passive ought to allow Jax to stick to Riven, but so far I found I can get away from Jax rather easily.

like I said... jax wins

...

Riven's abilities are melee range and AOE. This means she can only hit so many champions at once with them and only get 1/3 effective healing from them...

The biggest thing DD brings to Riven is the damage delay and the 15% lifesteal on her autos and 10% CDR, but she can get a shield and 20% lifesteal with a Bloodthirster. Basically every other AD caster makes better use of DD than Riven does...

I mean, as a Riven main, if you want tips on how to beat Riven, I'd happily oblige, but I won't waste my time if you are just going to rage.

Rákãñ1 votes

I wouldn't mind some tips on beating Riven in lane though. Most of the time I setup ganks for jg to steamroll over her. But, not every jungler is competent sadly.

If you can, try playing Poppy, Renekton, Olaf, Trundle, Jayce or Kennen. There are more counters, but these are in my opinion the most effective. Ranged tops tend to do well against Riven as well, maddening as it is, especially Cassiopeia.

Its worth noting that most of Riven's abilities are dashes. Keep in mind that when snared, you can't cast dash abilities. In Riven's case, this translates into a pseudo silence. When she is snared, Riven loses both all three casts of her Q, her primary damage and retreating tool, and her E, her dodging and blocking tool. This leaves her with only her W and R and abolutely no way to combo, run away or defend herself. The longer the snare the better, so champions with long lasting snares work wonders late game, like Morgana.

Going on that point a bit more, champions that block or punish dashes do really well against Riven. The two I can think of off the top of my head would be Poppy and Cassiopia. Both of them can mess up a Riven's day by making it so the Riven can't cast her abilities much like how it is when she is snared. This is why Poppy is my go to counter when someone picks Riven out from under me. Just manage your cooldowns and the Riven can't do anything.

Blinding her also helps, because it robs her of her passive and forces her to use nothing but abilities until it wears off, but it is much less effective than silencing her because even while blinded, she can still gather up stacks of her passive and can use them once the blind wears off, such is why I mentioned that Teemo isn't much of a counter to Riven because of out squishy he is.

Hope this helps!

No problem. Also, keep in mind that Riven thrives on the idea that she is the most broken thing on the planet. She is kinda like my fighting game main, Noel, in that respect. The Riven mains want you to think like that, and once you start buying into it, she has a really huge advantage because of how god damn sticky she is when dealing damage to running opponents. Truth is, she is just as easily bullied out of lane. While keeping in mind your own weaknesses, show her you won't be bullied and the matchup becomes a lot easier.

Call Me Nana1 votes

At what point are you dumb enough to let a Riven use all 4 gap closers to catch you.

She will never be able to catch you if shes that far behind you lol, you have the option of literally WALKING away.
