What's this sensation...

Seeing your favorite champion being picked in the LCS after having been arguably the most overpowered champion in the game for a single patch and having been the most universally hated rework.

Seeing him be played in a Solo lane as well as in a duo one and winning all the matches he played. Seeing his team play around his strengths and enable him. Seeing him being picked as a counter pick to some of the more common S tier champions.

...It's the feeling of knowing that your champion finally reached the point where he's a solid pick. He has a purpose, he has a strategy around him beyond being just THE best champion in that specific role or simply being overpowered. And you know what?

I'm happy as can be. Seeing Morde being played on a professional level without him being 100% pick or ban. It's great.

I don't think so. Riot was the one that wanted Morde to play bot lane in the first place, and so long as he doesn't become pick or ban again, I very highly doubt he'll be touched.

I mean, watching those games, it really feels like Mords biggest Trump card is his Dragon Force. When I do see Mord Win, he's often snowballing off of Dragon kills.

To me, while that feels powerful, it also feels like a Gamble. Because you have so much riding on that. My guess is that Riot is going to have to look at his reliability. But if he was Reliable, he'd be more than just a niche pick.

As someone who actually plays Morde bot, that's pretty much how it works. It's absurdly snowbally in both directions and is reliant on getting dragons to be as impactful as real adcs. If the enemy bot lane gets help from their team and you don't, you're pretty much guaranteed to get fucked. However, if you do get the help you need, then Morde bot is broken. Not only is ghost drag an insanely powerful sieging tool, but Morde himself is absurdly powerful when ahead since he becomes tankier by doing more damage. It creates a vicious feedback loop: More damage=More shield=Live longer=Do even more damage.

i like seeing garen being played in professional play, because he usually gets dumpstered and riot often looks into buffing him afterwards.

helps with climbing in solo que.

honestly, i do NOT think id be happy if he became a regular pick in tournaments. it usually leads to nerfs just to prevent boredom for the viewers of seeing the same champions over and over. he doesnt seem like one of those flashy big playmakers theyd buff just before worlds to force him into the meta like they do with some of the other guys.

Indeed. Having your champ crash and burn in pro play is often a good thing, since Riot tends to bring the buffs pretty generously afterward.

However, if they do too well and aren't one of Riot's favored champs, then the patch notes can become quite scary. I have very little concern that Garen specifically would do this though, so he's pretty happy seeing pro play and getting his butt kicked.

That feel when your favorite champ was used for the same reasons and gets gutted for effectively just being a counter to Azir and Syndra mid .
