Is there even a reason to own every champ?

I own all of them because I had enough IP/BE to get them all. I find myself being good at/wanting to play only about five of them or so. Is getting every champ a waste of time?

It's a goal, like any other. I have 9 remaining and I think I'm interested in trying maybe 2. The only practical upshot is being first pick and getting a champ for last pick that they need.

e.g. I own Yi because sometimes he's not banned and last pick wants him. In which case he needs Zilean. So I guess to that end it's more imperative if you plan FotM champs.

I have them all, and it is nice.

There is honestly only 3 or 4 champs I have tried, that I just did not have fun, and did not wan't to continue.

99% of them I enjoy learning to some extent.

Yes,

  1. you have it when you need it or decide to play it
  2. you'll have it if somebody wishes to trade through first pick or to try and avoid being counterpicked
  3. if you want to play something, you can confidentally ask people to first pick knowing you will have what they want to play.
  4. you'll have it so you can enchant or purchase limited content like borders or skins for it.

If you enjoy playing new champs and trying them out/learning about them, then that's a perfectly good reason.

You can chill in normals whenever you want. Not every game has to be about climbing ranked.

I own every champion I'm ever interested in playing, but I also buy champions that my friends frequently play so that I can trade with them in champion select.

If I don't want to play a champion and my friends don't play them either then there's no reason for me to even look at their store page.
