I have a new account and it takes forever to get anything...

I really think its balance affecting that not all of the champions are unlocked at install... There's the rune system and the skins to drive people to spend time and money on the game already... Blue essence is harder to get than IP was and it comes in disgusting bursts that feel underwhelming when you low-roll on the luck factor.

I really dislike that new players are forced to play blind pick where anyone can play anything without any picks and bans. This gameplay is WAY more volatile and toxic than a normal draft. Maybe unlock the champs for the player or do what Blizzard did and let the player choose a package of champions for free and then let them earn the rest?

I don't know. But at this rate I can't play ranked when I hit 30 without first spending real cash on the champions which cost 5-10 bucks a piece...

If I had the champs already I would feel much more inclined to spend money on cosmetics and customization of my pre-owned champs than feeling forced by the developer to play a limited number of champs who may or may not be viable depending on the balance of the game.

It's really killing the game for me.

Seriously, after coming from my perma-banned main account that existed from season 2, and trying to level this new count up, it feels like the leveling system is actually a punishment for banned players instead of a learning curve for new players. I know if this was my first time playing the game I'd quit because I don't have the time to unlock the 100+ champs that many of the players already own... Which puts me at a disadvantage, which makes the game feel like its behind a pay-wall.

Just my two cents.

Real talk, 100% facts. The reason Riot hasn't done anything to placate the community and rectify the obvious problems which have been repeated in every single thread on the topic for the last 5ish months is because....

They're fully aware and don't give a crap lol. Why would they? BE and the total grind that unlocking champs has become is not an accident. They WANT you to spend your neatbux on their RP, and who can blame a corporation for wanting to make money?? Only filthy communists could complain about trying to maximize profits, that's not an issue... not really.
The issue is changing a system which has been in place for as long as the game has existed to turn it into a cash cow. Lets not fool ourselves. A lot of players, I'd estimate over 80% of players have spent real life money on RP at least once in the last year. We want skins! LOL, the issue comes from changing a fair system (well.. it's not totally "fair" but a fairer system) into an unfair system.

It's no different from that "Canada-Land" episode of south park dealing with "Freemium" gaming, and Riot can denounce this all they want until they're blue in the face, but LoL HAS become pay to win. The majority of champs don't get played because they're garbage (inb4 git gud or whatever) and the new champs that come out are always over-powered for a month or so. The idea is to remove the ability for players to save up IP in between the release of new champs and essentially force MORE of the player base to rely on RP to attain more powerful champions.

Just look at the last 6 or so champs that have come out. Imagine if those champs were released 3-4 years ago. The meta has shifted away from old-school champs like Garen, Ashe, etc, and even though they're still technically "viable" they're really not as good as any of the new champs that have been released, that is... the new champs do the same things but better over-all (minus some unique ults like Garen's which are basically guaranteed kills)

Why do you think the "Pros" exist? and why do you think Riot cracks down, nerfs or bans anything that isn't part of the "pro" meta? Because the "Pro meta" is what determines who will pay for what. Remember when proxy farm singed was a thing, you had a bunch of idiots claiming it was "game breaking" and "cheating" that's how inundated with Riots propaganda people are, they call a situational, strong mechanic "cheating" and Riot discouraged it, banned it, and nerfed it until it was no longer viable as an alternative to the "meta"

Blue Essence is just a means of making Riot more money because they know that enough of the fan-base will defend anything they do even if it's unethical, even if it's hypocritical, even if it's disgusting.

Riot was an SJW company too, that should give you a hint, remember gaming before League of Legends set the precedent for "toxic behavior"? Remember old school online games? You couldn't do anything without being trolled, flamed and crapped on, but then Riot came along and pushed for SJW politics in gaming.

Face the facts. League, Riot and the company that bought Riot are SJW corporate whores who literally hate their player base and don't care, and you're so infatuated with the product (even addicted to it) that you'll put up with any BS they pull because of course you will.

Blue Essence is a money cow, that's all it is, and they're never going to change it because fan-boys will never revolt or boycott the game. They'll sit back and take it up the pooper until Riot releases an updated game "League Of Legends II", think it won't happen? Of course it fucking will. As soon as it's more profitable to put the time and energy into making a new game than it is to maintain the costs to operate the servers for LoL, they'll pump out a new game and 95% abandon league and then all your RP that you spent will effectively disappear, the money sucked into the corporate void.

Believe it.

Oh and let me add. Just take 5 minutes and close your eyes and consider everything you KNOW about the BE system, forget what Riot tells people, it's obviously bullshit, take 5 minutes, just 5 short minutes and think really hard about the end result of the blue essence system. Think about your experiences with it, think about the experiences of your friends, think about the experiences of people you've seen talking about it, then think about the Riot boardroom. Think about the meeting that took place in that boardroom. Think about how Riot has tried to sell this as an "improvement" even though our own experiences with the system demonstrate that this is, in fact, a lie.

Think about it. What would motivate Riot to make this change. Greed. Period. Plain and simple greed, and a general rule of thumb is ask yourself "Who benefits most from this" the answer in regard to LoL will be Riot 100% of the time, not you.

To Riot you, the player, are nothing but a wallet, and the E-Sports teams are nothing but whores that Riot can use to open your wallets even more. Dota 2 does this even more than Riot by selling people "Pro-player" autographs which can be used like stickers on cosmetic items.

MOBAs in general take themselves too seriously. It's just a game. And e-Sports are a tax on immaturity and low testosterone and one thing remains clear, as long as you put up with it, they'll keep pushing and pushing and pushing, in a year or so, they may remove BE altogether, or introduce an even more asinine system which incentives spending,

Remember kids, you're consumers, you're customers using a product, you're not athletes, you don't have sponsorship, you're not important, your kills your deaths your creep score... it's all meaningless, you're tricked into believing this is a sport, and because you believe this is a sport that actually benefits you in some way, like soccer, football, basketball, baseball etc, you're willing to buy into the hype. The "Leagues" exist to give you the illusion that you're actually competing in something, "if I get to diamond I'll be somebody", "If I get to challenger I'll be somebody", wrong! Riot is exploiting your low self-esteem for profit, and the only reason they punish "toxic behavior" and ruin online gaming culture by turning the Rift into a cyber safe-space is because they KNOW they're exploiting your low self-esteem and if you kill yourself they can't make money off you. Period. End of story. Stop supporting these corporate pigs.

Play the game, have fun, whatever, but don't buy even a single Riot Point. Fuck em. You're in control, YOU are their paycheck. They owe YOU, not the other way around. YOU'RE not getting rich off Riot, Riot is getting rich off YOU. Without the consumer, they'd go bankrupt.
