This is not exactly a bug, more of a gameplay health issue. Kaisa's ultimate provides her shield at the end of the dash - not the start of it - which means she might die during the dash, which puts her ultimate on its full cooldown despite not granting its effects.

Anyway... Riot could change it so she gets the shield immediately, but the number of cases where it will matter is probably so low that they're willing to say "git gud and don't waste ult when you're already about to die".
It's not that different IMO than flashing away when an AA that is going to kill you is in midair -- learn not to do that, or waste your cooldown and die anyway, the choice is yours.
There are lots of ults where pressing it right before you die will waste most or all of its effect and still put it on cooldown. Not everyone can be Tryndamere.

Shen's target recieves his shield at the beginning of Shen's ultimate, not after he arrives. Galio's target recieves his damage reduction at the beginning of the channel, not after he lands.
But that is besides the point. My problem is not that Kaisa does not recieve the shield when she clicks the button - its that the ability can go on cooldown without actually doing anything.
Either make the shield instantaneous, or refund the cooldown if she never lands.

GrReaper962 votesIt simply makes her mechanically more complex. It prevents her R from being a free escape tool and focuses its engaging potential. Pretty impressive actually. More skills, especially for divers, should be like this.
