Riot you realy need to rebalance yasuo from scratch

Well the nerfs finaly take effect and we are losing a fun champ to play and well ... i personaly blame riots ballance aproach

yasuo as a meele dps needs some stuff like

  • not being easy to kite
  • being able to effectively lane and fight vs ranged opponents
  • being resistant to burst

and riot provided it at the release but there were some problems -yasuo was not dying -yasuo was killing everyone before they could do something to him (he has prolly the highest dps in the entire game)

and here ill write what riot changed with the nerfs

  • yasuo is totaly burstable
  • yasuo is easier to kite
  • part of yasuos kit got totaly removed (who needs a shield anyway )

and well ill tell you the main reason for me blaming riot for failing to ballance him From the release yasuo weilded the most insane dps ever while he didnt need it to do his job (sustained meele damage dealer does not need to oneshot squishies), first nerfs put yasuo into the assasin role where he either ate your team or was just blown up

the main goal of creating yasuo was to create a meele dps that can stand of par with the ranged dps's (ranged champs were safer so there was no reason to pick fiora or gp over them) the only tools that allowed yasuo to do that was his shield, wall and dash and those are the tools that riot hits instead of his damage (the thing that was always the problem)

as fasr as yasuo's damage is so higfh and spikes so fast he will remain both toxic and unballanced

Well, the only kiting part he "lost" was 10 ms, which seems pretty good since he has an extremely quick gapcloser/escape. His shield is still there in literally the same function, and the only difference between his burstability is he lost some hp early game.

So...I think you're wrong.

compare his shield now to the shield from his release (200 units less shield, charges longer, lasts 1/3 of the time it did, is not charged by w's passive, if enemy tries to burst you down he might not be able to break your shield before it just disapears)

riot basicaly cuts anything in his kit just to preserve that damage and i think that soon yasuo will be nothing (who needs dmg when you cant even get close )

when we look at champion with realy good damage, the most important part is not how big the damage is but is that champion able to actualy survive and make use of it (thats what yasuo loses, his dmg is still top tier but i dont think that he will be able to get to that point where he deals ot or just survive the time he needs to deal it )

10 ms is quite much when you cant jump to a desired spot (i personaly felt that right away when i played yasuo, he just feels much slower )

Yasuo is fine, he is intended to be a high skill-cap champion...

That means you need to position and use his abilities perfectly and have a high level knowledge of the matchups in order for him to be effective. However, after people learned how to play him he was clearly overtuned, he was very easy to dominate with and that isn't how he was supposed to be. Now he has balance, he's good in the right team comp and matchup but you can't blind pick him first anymore. That's good.

well see, but i fear that; a)he will straight out underperform b)even at the matchups and teamcomps that should fawour him he will get outclassed by other champions (most of up champions lack good matchups, and even at their best they just dont do as good at others)

ofc those fears might not come true but for me it looks like they will

opinion

his winrate fell to around 42% across all elos (here is some proof changing my opinion to a proven statement )

i know that winrate kinda sucks but i personaly think that while winrate cannot tell if champion is op or up it can tell if champion competes more or less to the game than its counterparts

I honestly have less sympathy for Yasuo QQ threads than almost any other. He was right there with pre ferf tristana and lucian. Unfun, overpowered, and a ton of people maining them because they were overpowered crying all over the forums because they have to work for their wins now.

i dont qq about yasuo, i qq about riot failing to ballance him
i like him thematicaly, but its impossible to play him when he is banned most of the time
now probably it will be stupid to pick him onto competetive play because he just wont perform (actualy he rides the hype about him being op most of the time, i managed to melt him sometimes with adc's )

i would like him to just get ballanced already so i could play him and have fun and personaly i played underrated champs most of the time (when they got bifg i usualy found some other champs to play, its just not the same when everyone picks what you pick)

Thats not the point though: your complaint is that riot looked at the game, and saw that yasuo was in DESPERATE need of a nerf. The goal of his kit design was for him to be an assassin, meaning he needs high damage. So, when his damage is the reason he is strong, and they dont want to remove that, they have to remove power from the rest of his kit. Thats how balancing works. if he sucks, he will get a buff later.

he goal of his kit design was for him to be an assassin, meaning he needs high damage.

that is incorrect the goal was to make a meele adc that actualy works that way

i read a lot of stuff that comes from riot and they were quite hyped about making a viable meele adc when making yasuo

Hoi Im Temmo1 votes

Really? I hadn't heard about that.......

Regardless, though. ADC's are very squishy, by nature. They still focus on damage, so riot would want to nerf the rest of his kit rather than that section - so even if he is burstable, so are the rest of the adc's, right?

Knight SoIaire 1 votes

yeah you are quite right

most of that unburstability requirement comes form the sole fact that he is meele ranged carries have to stay out of the range of ppl with burst unless they have tanks to defend them yasuo has to go face in in order to deal dmg ,,, riot just pushed him to be a hit or miss champion

They said melee carries can only be viable by making them op. So they threw on a whole load of unneeded power.

Or instead of completely change him, they could just remove the true problem, the stupid double crit chance that guarantees him in every single game a huge power spike once he gets 2 items(and often 1 is enough) and swap it with a more reasonable steroid like increased damage on crit hits, which would also push him towards new and creative itemization paths...and after that he could even receive some power back that Riot subtracted him trying to desperately fix him without touching the true problem

Knight SoIaire 1 votes

or simply make the additional crit % rise with lvls ?

i personaly can only speculate

Ale non è male1 votes

I think Yasuo players should be encouraged to go towards crit builds, more than give him what are basically free stats and add nothing to his character or to a variety of build paths other than just a huge power spike that make him pretty much hatred by a part of the community and leaded to some undeserved nerfs Give them additional damage on crit, NOT additional crit chance P.S. and crit runes should go as well in S5, imho

Knight SoIaire 1 votes

you didnt catch me

let me demonstrate my suggesion by example

live INTENT: Yasuo's critical strike chance is doubled, but the damage dealt by his critical strikes is reduced by 10% (25% on Steel Tempest.png Steel Tempest).

my suggestion INTENT: Yasuo's critical strike chance is increased by 50%/75%/100% (yasuo has his old passive but the powerspikes will be much weaker), but the damage dealt by his critical strikes is reduced by 10% (25% on Steel Tempest).

yasuo with static shiv and my suggested passive would have 30% crit chance at lvl1 35% crit strike at lvl 6 and 40% crit at lvl 12

i dont realy know if the passives lvl up like that but i think that it explains it

Ale non è male1 votes

Yasuo after 6 would have 75% increased crit chance and when he would have had completed Statik + IE, he would be at 75% crit chance(counting also the crit runes) in your scenario, so there will be a really little difference from the actual situation, as 75% crit chance is still more than any other champ in the game and guarantee you to crit on 3 hits every 4

Knight SoIaire 1 votes

the idea was to reduce the powerspikes not to nerf his late (thats what you said neds to be changed, so why you complain about his late game) also the levels of passive increasing are just an example because i dont realy know when it should increase
