Isn't Fizz a good example of a healthy assassin now?

Strengths

• High burst with ultimate
• Slippery if played correctly.

Weakness

• Weak laning phase before 6 (high mana costs, melee with no means of ranged farm)
• Can't 100-0 without ult unless ridiculously fed.
• Even with has to be very careful with his mana.
• If he gets behind in laning phase he's basically useless unless you let him ult you and AA you a tonne.

Any ranged mid can abuse him before 6, you can also abuse him when his ult is down. Clear windows of strength and weakness.

His E is annoying but it is fairly mana gated and is most of his damage.

His banrate is extremely low, his popularity and winrate are both fairly average.
