Weird matchmaking bug

I played a game where I saw a bronze 1 in my loading screen and I am Gold 4 so I thought they must be duo with a Gold 1 who is also in my game.

I thought the gold one support would be helpful but when it turned out they were a bot, I went on Op.GG to see what was up. Turns out they were bronze 1 as well.

anyone seen that before?
