So is a meta enforceable?

Riot keeps saying it isn't. Seems like NB3 can change their stance.

Seems almost like NB3 banned griefer that no one wanted in their games.

Unfortnetely, they didn't banned him bcs "offmeta" but bcs he did 0 communication and after asked and begged to stop by midlaner and adc, he didn't, basically griefing.

Thank you NB3.

yes it is enforceable, or else the role select needs to disappear.

Going to your designated lane isnt meta. Playing your role isnt meta.

If your toplaner decided to go 2nd mid without asking and ignoring your midlaner, would you be okay with it because that player said "it's just off meta bro"?

Have you read this Riot response about why Nubrac was punished? If not, go read it up first. It wasn't for playing off-meta.

This player in particular popped up on our radar a few weeks ago and we decided to not take action at that time because playing Teemo in this method is not against our rules.

However, after reviewing the continued reports we were receiving (from multiple sources) a pattern was forming where this targeted off meta behavior was occurring most often in games when the player was with a high profile streamer. If you want to play off meta, we think that's great! If you want to play off meta only to spite other players and reap the negative reactions and attention from their viewers while they are streaming then we don’t consider that a good faith use of off meta play.

Only meta that's enforced is support goes bot lane

Per Riot WookieCookie:

Riot will not ban a player for off meta-play; full stop. If you're curious on our thoughts about off meta play you can hear it straight from Meddler here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VMAAfm095tg

The only meta enforced is high elo meta. They'll nerf champs into the ground if high-elo picks it enough making it usless for the other 99.9% of people that play the game. have you seen the new akali "adjusts" after their nerfing spree just due to her being a viable flex pick? It's insane how people don't riot enforces metas depite what they say.

The "META" cannot be enforceable because it is ever evolving by literal definition.

META is an abbreviation for "Most Effective Tactic Available".

"Most" is an irregular superlative adjective in English. The superlative quite literally singles out a sole particular noun and compares it to all others of its type. For example: "Mrs Smith lives in the biggest house in Florida." "Jane Doe purchased the most beautiful mirror in the store."

In league of legends style, one may say: "Sona and Taric bot lane is the most effective duo currently."

And for the comparative, one may say: "Soraka is more effective as a support than a top laner."

Such descriptions can be used both objectively and subjectively depending on the topic. The "META" is subjective as it has always been determined by opinion of the playerbase; and opinion itself is dynamic.
