Well, Rengar barely survives during his first clear, how can he gank? Until lvl 6 your ganks are successful only vs very incautious enemies...

nobody wards walk into lane with 5 stacks free flash/kill if you can play rengo and hit your e's

KONO RUBICK DA1 votes

the hell? i don't know how you play him but he indeed survives during his first clear. if you know how to throws bolas during your leap you will have 85% chance of not missing the gank

i love when people say something doesn't have counter play my favorite.

Sadly true if they take qss/cleanse. In bronze at least.

All the tanks there simply die. Rammus, Alistar and Galio's defensive steroids are ignored by Master Yi's true damage (which he will deal a lot of with Sated Devourer).

We don't care about Alistar tankiness, i'm here to talk about him because he can cc yi for about 2 sec which is far enough to kill a mele adc. Additionally with 40% cdr (because yi is all about late game) alistar can reach ~6.5 cd on his W and 7/7.5 on his Q.

Rammus dying? before rammus dies yi would be blown up by DBC+item 3075 item 3751 + rammus's team focusing yi

Again i don't care about galio's defensive steroids, i'm summoning the tanks for their cc and utility. Galio can reach the cap of his ultimate because of master yi's attack speed. he has 50% damage reduction while ultying and a heal when he is attacked, all this allow him to survive for 3 sec and cast his ulti for all its duration giving to his team the possibility to kill yi while dealing damage with item 3075 and than his ulti 720+(1.0 AP) damage.

LOL. You act as if Yi completely negates all armor with his VERY minimal true damage. Honestly the most true damage YI has ever done to me was around 400 because i was an oom malphite who was running away. EVEN then Yi almost killed himself on me because of thornmail. BOTRK does not heal him enough to resist his own damage LOL.

his true damage has limited duration. if you manage to disenagage (janna ult, ali knockback etc.) and his e runs out, hes fucked.

yep, i forgot this ty

My issue is that, as a squishy, you've already lost 1/4 to 1/2 of your HP before Yi even becomes targetable and you use your exhaust/CC.

KONO RUBICK DA1 votes

this is your frontlane fault. they see a car driving into their backlane and if they don't give a damn about not letting yi reaching their squishy, then you must lose. Remember when kassadin could "not respect the frontlane" with his 700 range ulti? yi can't do it. he can just straight up run into you. and then you have JarvanIV to knock up him and ulti him if he wastes his QRammus Malphite RammusLeona or, you can even burst him with ChogathAnnie Rengar Xerath

Yi is one of the most countered champ in all of league (outside of the 2 times when he was blatantly OP, which one was his fault and the other wasn't), anyone who complains about him simply has no idea and should be ignored.

KONO RUBICK DA1 votes

i also forgot a lot of counters just named few to show that he actually has counterplay

Those are counter picks, not counterplay. Gameplay and Balance glossary

The counterplay to Yi is to stick together as a team and either blow him up before he can do anything, or lock him down with CC. As with all squishy high-damage melee champions, you beat him by having the entire team quickly focus him down; either focus on peeling him off his target or killing him quickly before he kills his target.

KONO RUBICK DA1 votes

if you look at the counter picks list, you will see a general counterplay which is what you listed, either CC him, or kill him asap

you might say "oh, you can kill everybody it's not a counterplay", but master yi has nothing to run into the backline. if he focus the front lane then your backlane can kill him. if he tries to kill your backlane you have to disrupt him (like j4 ulti) or prevent him from running (annie/rengar).

The problem with those "counter plays" is that counterplays can in turn be counterplayed.

CC him? QSS/Cleanse.

Focus him? What about the Darius that is charging at your ADC? Focusing is not a valid strategy because this gives the enemy an opportunity to place bigger threats on the board.

Burst him? His Q is like a Shaco ult level dodge that lasts a bit longer and gapcloses like Shaco Q. If he goes Defensive item after his BORK, this becomes infinitely more difficult.

What if we ganged up and killed him? Not too terribly efficient, considering that they still have 4 other threats on the board.

My argument is not that removing YI is impossible. Of course not. Nothing is impossible.

My argument is that removing YI is a very costly task. There is no efficient way to kill a skilled YI (if you believe in such things). They can 4v5 you because you're terrified of using your valuable CC. Rightfully so... if you waste it, you'll regret it.

YI isn't a shitty minion that you can just 'Entropic Decay.' He's got spell immunity, frenzy, flying and %maxHPdamage on steroids.

On a side note, it IS possible to outrun a yi with GHOST on TEEMO.

I should main YI. I haven't bought him out of spite, but I think it's high time to ride the train before the nerf hammers start slamming.

nop it isn't, just a book of responses to lost people in this meta.

I must make a correction though, Cho's ulti only deals 1000 true damage upfront to minions and monsters otherwise its lvl 1 damage is 300 that goes up to 650 I believe with a 70% AP scaling.

Still Cho is a bad news to Yi, considering his silence and knockup combo.

KONO RUBICK DA1 votes

yea but if cho has 500 AP, his ulti deals 650+350=1000

That would be correct but under normal circumstances a Cho would almost never reach an AP that high by the end game, unless they're rolling too hot atm.

So I wouldn't bet on the chances of the burst being the counter to Yi, but instead it's the deadly combo of Cho's cone silence and the follow up knockup that sends Yi all the way into oblivion flying. Imo.

Lol if yi takes the 4% hp damage jungle item then add the bork that's 10% hp per hit and then the true damage and then the double hit and then the super fast crazy attack speed and then the eraser... and then the bloodthirster and qss holy shit. Add in 2 whatever defensive items and you have your spectacular 1v9 champion.item 3070
