Why does Fizz ult scale so hard?

There's a lot of skill shots in league, and a lot of ultimate based ones that are all pretty easy to dodge, Fizz's included.

Ezreal, Lux, Ashe, Draven, Jinx, Aurelion Sol, Graves, the list goes on.

However, I don't see any of them getting 500 Base damage + 120% scaling AND CC, also applying a fully charged pop for his W.

~~I sorta get that the rest of his kit struggles for damage~~.. just kidding

Jokes aside, He does rely on it a bit and it is fairly easy to dodge, but why is it one of the highest damaging abilities in the game?

It's not easy to dodge without a dash. blink or movespeed boost

I never saw it to do any dmg after the last rework. Even if you land the max range shark, the damage is not that high. There are ultimates that can teamwipe. This one does 500 (+ 120% AP) max range - which is isn't that much. More often it will deal 350 (+ 60% AP) or 425 (+ 80% AP), because of how hard is to land it.

You're kidding right? 500 damage is the highest ultimate base damage for non periodics..| and 120% scaling is the highest non channel/non periodic skill in the game.

It is kinda hard to dodge. Its easy to hit at point blank range and it has a crutch that makes the hitbox bigger and more wonky the farther it goes, is a AOE that can effect your team and slow.

Well, if you whiff the ult, you are kinda ehhh. Not to say Fizz can't wreck you, but the ult does contribute a lot to the reason why he can burst you down pretty fast.

it scales hard to add a counterplay element of, he can dash towards you and land an easy ult but it will do no damage. you get hit by a long range one though and you're done.

but to answer you comparing them to other champion ults... most of those other ults are global or higher range, and/or accompanied by a sustained damage kit so throwing in ridiculous ability scaling wouldn't be very balanced for them
