IF, and only IF you end up nerfing Swain because of Pro play, consider this Riot...

99.9% of us players do not play on a professional level and can't really abuse certain aspects of a champion's kit like the Pros do, that's why characters like Shen, Galio, Ryze and Azir are always going to remain unsatisfying in the hands of casual players.

With Swain being picked in the LCS right now I have a hunch that Reddit's going to, and excuse my french, bitch until he gets nerfed. And who knows, maybe he deserves nerfs even after this patch goes through, but there are certain aspects of his kit that should be looked at first before rendering him unfun for us, the regular players.

Swain's strength in Pro play comes from not only the Waveclear he provides, because that's a Mage thing, not an exclusively Swain thing, but also from him being able to become pretty tanky, and... His skills that work extremely well in a competitive environment.

Those being the sheer vision control and scouting his W, vision of Empire, provides and the pull of Ravenous Flock. If you decide to nerf him you should look at those two, either lowering W's range or upping its CD to make it weaker, as well as tuning his passive's CD early game.
