@Meddler Thoughts on changing Mf's Make It Rain to Physical damage?

Right now Make It Rain is a pretty lack luster spell. It's mostly used for some easy and quick damage or for the slow.

What would changing the damage to physical accomplish? It would give more synergy with Black Cleaver. It would punish people who stay in it, as well as making it a better tool for dueling tanks.

Thoughts?

If you are using Make it Rain for the damage, you are doing it wrong. Its for the slow or to zone your opponent away from you. Sadly, its her only form of escape, and you have to use it very sparingly bc of its high mana cost.

At early levels, make it rain does decent damage.

Double up does WAY more damage at a lower cost.

But my Liandry's Miss Fortune build for ARAM D:

Although changing it to physical would hurt ap Mf, Ap Mf really is not in that great of a spot to begin with.

P.S. Wouldn't liandry's still apply? On the item's description, it states it burns for Spell Damage, not magical, so wouldn't that include **all **spells?

I guess, but the AP and mpen would be wasted making it a pretty weak buy.

It's only an ARAM build anyways. I build AD and just throw a Liandrys in early for poke. Can't imagine using it in summoners rift. It's pretty hilarious watching tanks get shredded by E spam though.

I don't think Riot wants that kind of synergy with Black Cleaver. The only Dot spell off the top of my mind that does physical damage is Urgots Corrosive charge. And their still looking to rework him to tackle his problematic kit. Despite the fact that he's currently viable.

In retrospect. Shredding 30% Armor passively via a single spell that does dot damage is not really interactive and lacks counterplay. Especially in Miss Fortunes case where her Make it rain slows, and holds the enemy in place.

Black cleaver does already stack with her Ult which does damage every .25 seconds. fully stacking black cleaver after 1.5 seconds.

The spell is pretty easy to escape from. I think you can admit that.
