Karma was changed a while ago so that her W can be used on monsters

Could we maybe make it so that her passive reduces the cooldown on her ult if you hit monsters with spells instead of just champions? Would be a nice buff to jungle Karma and also increase consistency within her kit.

Because of two reasons:

  • This can be abused by midlane Karma. Hitting the chickens with a Q from lane would easily grant her a huge portion of her mantra back. This leads to undesired behaviour and reward systems in lane.
  • Karma's identity is already spread too thinly. She can mid, top and supp and people can't seem to agree where she should be played. Adding jungle to the mix would both risk adding yet another thing people can disagree on, confuses Riot further what Karma should be balanced around and threatens to kill Karma's current identity. And if Karma fans don't like something, it's cutting off pieces of Karmas identity (yet again).

Not hating on you or anything, I have suggested this at one point too and have been told the things above. Don't feel discouraged from contributing to the community :)

Agree with you on the mid lane Karma thing, that'd be a bit much.

I'd say that one of the most appealing parts of Karma is her versatility. We should be encouraging her multi-faceted playstyle, not pigeonholing her into a single role. From a lore perspective at least, Karma strikes me as the type of champion who is a generalist; her title says it all: The Enlightened One. To me, being "enlightened" is akin to being omniscient, and this is reflected in how she is played. She is adaptable depending on what you need from her, and more specifically where you want to play her.

Thus, I see her thinly spread identity as more of a strength than a weakness. In fact I would go so far as to say that her ability to be played in almost every role IS her identity (or at least, a huge part of it). If this detracts from her power budget in some way, I suppose concessions will have to be made, but as a whole I feel we should be encouraging creative champion role selections.

As a jack-of-all-trades, Karma is the perfect example of this and I think it would be best if she stayed that way.

Well, about pick-flexibility: They took away Karma's shieldbomb and gutted the damage properties of her mantras to buff her support qualities in 5.10. This arguably made her a more viable support (more flexible when picking a role) but less flexible when played as a midlaner, as two of her tools were removed.

If similar things would happen again to make her viable as a jungler - which you must assume, because a more spread power budget means less budget for any single role - the community would rage. And personally, I would prefer more flexibility and depth within one (or two) roles, instead of a braindead playstyle in four different lanes.

I can certainly see the appeal of being able to fulfill many roles with Karma, but I wouldn't dare reduce her to that. I mean, what did we learn about reducing a woman to a single trait :P?
