Is current matchmaking an attempt to stop smurfing?

Hear me out.

Matchmaking is more busted this year than any oither year. I would say 9/10 games there's one or two players who clearly are a higher MMR above everyone else stomping 18/1 or something like that. But they still can't carry because their team mates are soooooooooo bad. Like they're plat elo and the rest are legit bronze or even iron who can't even follow basic instructions to stay out of harm's way, that bad.

Is putting higher MMR players with completely brain-dead low elo players as allies a way to rebalance the smurf 'impact' within games? If both teams are gold MMR with one diamond smurf the team with the smurf wins typically.

But if one team is gold and the other bronze with a smurf it's more 50/50.

RIOT would never tell us anyway they don't communicate with us but it's the only rational explanation I can think of for the current state of matchmaking. It's either that or they're just completely incompetent as a company and probably the only company I know of that makes their product worse year on year.

There has to be an underlying reason why matchmaking is so bad right now.

You dont know player's MMR and you dont know your MMR. You are making assumptions based on your personal experience without any sourced data.

You are mistaken in one aspect.

Smurfs' goal isn't to win/climb. Their goal is to stomp! They want to lose to keep playing with inferior people.

Cause if someone finishes each game 31/2/3 but loses, their MMR is going DOWN not UP. And they can keep doing it. But if they win their MMR will go up and eventually they will start playing with human beings.
