15 new champions a year and we wonder why Riot can't balance the game?

Started with 28 in 2010, now like, 128 or something right?

Of course the game is going to be whack. They bite off more than they can chew, because new champions makes money. But in the process they increase their work load always doing such big patches every two weeks.

To make matters worse, there is no logical baseline that champions all must deal with.

Manaless champions with low cool downs for example, get the luxury of much more focus builds.

Some champions are good early AND late game.

There needs to be an underline thread of logic that pulls the game together. But the way Marc Merrill sets up the company, he allows a lot of creative decisions at lower levels. But then, ya know, tons of patches.

I feel like they are either incompetent at what they do, or balancing the game was never there intention. And please spare me your "perfectly imbalanced", get out of jail free card for game companies, propaganda.

Riot is so far from being incompetent, it's ridiculous. They have the most popular PC game on the planet, and they keep improving and working on it.

I wouldn't say Rovio is incompetent, but it's true that they've only had one game that was a real success (Angry Birds).

Incompetent is Big Rigs. Enemy AI did... nothing. Trucks just sat there. There was no speed limit on going in reverse, so you can just keep going faster and faster.

More like 5-6 new champs a year. Riot's balance problems IMO are less about having too many champs and a little more about not always executing when they do rework champs.

They balance around money and what's profitable, not actual balance.

Riot in 7 years still hasn't figured out that the solution is not to nerf something, it's to buff the counterplay. But considering that 98% of the playerbase is below level 0 and should not even play the game i wonder why they don't do that.
