Why am I punished when someone leaves matchmaking?

I finally get the position I want to play rather than secondary pick or autofill and someone leaves, game pops up again and I am support..........

Go Fist Yourselves Riot.

I'd rather sit in a 20 min Q to play the position I want then be thrown into some position I have no patience to play at the time, especially when I have 1 or 2 games left before I have priorities.
