Why does Riven's defense scale of offense? And why are her ratios super high?

Riven with 400 AD and 40% CDR pretty much has:

infinite mobility (slow doesn't affect her at all)
610 HP shield every 4 seconds (basically more off. she has, more def. she has as well)
ult that deals up to 1200 AoE damage, just by one swing (excluding the +20% AD)
and overall insane AoE damage. since all her spells have 100% + AD ratios, super short cooldowns and are all physical damage based, making armor pen. super effective..

I mean, someone please explain me, where's the sense for balance with this champion? I need to know what is the thought process behind her..

I'd like to introduce the idea of CC to you.

Ya CC her, then you burst her down. If she has 40% cdr and 400 AD, then she's squishy as hell.

Yet Jax, Garen, Renekton, and Darius curb stomp her a lot

Her problem is that she is MEANT to be one of the MOST snowbally champs in the game. Tip if she gets first blood/1-2 kills on your top lane, camp it, and camp it hard until 10-15 min are up. She will never be able to come back, and she will only be able to kill someone with flash, ult, combo.

Rooting prevents her from using two of her abilities. Perhaps you should try Zyra against her :)
