Why does Riven's defense scale of offense? And why are her ratios super high?

Riven with 400 AD and 40% CDR pretty much has:

infinite mobility (slow doesn't affect her at all)
610 HP shield every 4 seconds (basically more off. she has, more def. she has as well)
ult that deals up to 1200 AoE damage, just by one swing (excluding the +20% AD)
and overall insane AoE damage. since all her spells have 100% + AD ratios, super short cooldowns and are all physical damage based, making armor pen. super effective..

I mean, someone please explain me, where's the sense for balance with this champion? I need to know what is the thought process behind her..

I'd like to introduce the idea of CC to you.

Ya CC her, then you burst her down. If she has 40% cdr and 400 AD, then she's squishy as hell.

Heh, IDK dude, this is a single excuse used for every champion. "Just use CC on him/her!" That doesn't really convince me.

Ofc CC will stop her, CC can stop any champion. But in many times, you can't afford to use all of you team's CC just on her. Also she can get some items/spells just to prevent being struck by CC. I've seen that before too. (Mercurial Scimitar - ideal item for her)

Not really. CC an Irelia and tell me it has the same effect as CCing a Riven.

Squishy melees are extremely vulnerable to CC because they have to get up close to deal damage, so if you lock them down for even a second in a teamfight they get bursted 100-0 without access to their cooldowns. Riven has never been excellent at grouped teamfighting for this reason. She only works well when people are spread out or not grouping, which is pretty typical in low MMR soloqueue and probably why you're getting stomped by her.

If by CC we're talking knockups and supression, Irelia can go home.

Now speaking of Riven not working in teamfights, I don't know where did you get that from, but I've seen her go ham 1v5 many times (I repeat MANY times) and annihilate whole teams. She has no trouble doing that. Even if she dies, she will take at least 2 opponents with her and drastically injure the rest of them.

Her problem is that she is MEANT to be one of the MOST snowbally champs in the game. Tip if she gets first blood/1-2 kills on your top lane, camp it, and camp it hard until 10-15 min are up. She will never be able to come back, and she will only be able to kill someone with flash, ult, combo.

I agree, every jungle should know to camp riven for the first 7 min or 2 sucessfull ganks
