You guys realize that adcs lost raw ad in their update also right?

.. And in exchange got more flexibility and possibilities. Which is exactly what riot is planning for mages... The mental gymnastics required to turn the huge increase in utility and options riot is giving into a biased olafing is hilarious. You don't know the specifics, you don't know the permenant numbers, just relax.

But the AD version of flexibility and possibilities is "Shove as many stats onto it as you possibly can, then sneak a few more in and add an active" while the AP version is "lower numbers across the board, then slap CDR on it."

their dps stil went up.

now they get up to 100% crit chance + 30% cdr in the same build, and up to 20% lifesteal from masteries. so they actually can build into raw dps without having to get a bloodthirster for survivability.

on top of that their kits got massively buffed. i mean mf's ult deals at least double the damage, she got more damage on her passive, and double up was buffed.

thats just one example.

mages already got its AP lowered in a previous update

The difference is adcs weren't in the same bad spot ap is. Exchanging power for utility wasn't that painful. Taking damage and existing power from a weaker class just hurts overall.

Losing AD is one thing. Mages are losing AP and mana regen. AD champions gained mana through the Essence Reaver and they don't even need mana to function thanks to their resource-less AA being their primary damage output. Mages are literally worthless without mana.

ADCs lost some AD, sure but they still gained a massive amount of stats from their update.

They gained ER, which gives them 20% crit and 30% CDR extra in their standard build. Right now an ADC will typically get 70% crit, 30% CDR and more attack speed than they would in S5. That more than makes up for their loss of AD.

Mages are losing M/5 as a stat, they're losing AP and their items are already bellow the average. It's a fairly big difference between the two.

The only thing in the Mage update I'm concerned about is how the removal of mana regen and a viable MR item for long range mages is going to effect them (Xerath main, Athene's was my first item). I've talked a bit with Xpher on the thread, and he admits that they will be in a bit of a weird spot, most notably Xerath out of all of them.

But they got more crit and every other stat in the game was reduced at the same time. Bruiser ad items, almost all armor items, almost all hp items, almost all ap items, and half buff on some of the mr items while nerfing the hp on the same items at the same time. So every other role in the game got weaker while marksmen got better cause every other role got worse. There were items that were made more inefficient for everyone else just so marksmen could get more use out of them.

Riot is retarded " we are making mages stronger, decreases ap items by 20.
