I don't understand

How can a summoner spell make some champions completely useless. I think summoner 3 has been too strong for too long. It is way too difficult to play champions like Zed when the other team has exhaust. Most melee assassins are completely useless because if they try to go in they just get summoner 3 and they are dead. summoner 3 decreases movement speed, attack speed and resists for almost 3 seconds. Meanwhile summoner 7 just heals and provides a movement speed boost for a second and summoner 14 applies a DoT. Can summoner 3 be toned down or just removed completely?

40% damage reduction is such a pain. It reminds me of red smite.

It is 40 but it feels like fking 90% lol

As an ADC, it is more like a 70ish% because not only do you lose 40% of the damage that you land, you lose out on several autos that counts as potential damage

So an adc that does 200 dmg per auto that'd auto you 5 times get's exausted. No they only hit you 3 times for 120 damage so 1000dmg turns into 360dmg

That's not even including resistances or actual numbers. More attack speed on victim = more actual dmg prevention

Usually only supports have exhaust, if you catch someone out away from the support then you can kill them. Exhaust has a 3minute cooldown whereas zed's ultimate is way shorter. If you get exhausted, go back to your ult shadow and wait for ult again for guaranteed kill. It's a defense mechanism since many assassins are point and click killers with very little counterplay. Fast reactions on exhaust counter them and you have it up only once every 3 minutes so I think it's alright right now.

I've been playing zed a lot lately and the enemy almost always has 2 exausts sometimes even 3. Makes things very difficult. I'd say its the strongest summoner spell currently.

Other than flash, yeah it's very strong and underrated. IMO Zed isn't in a great place anyways right now. Understand though that if you soak exhausts then you put your team at an advantage. Maybe try to poke them down early or bait an exhaust before going all in. There needs to be more counterplay to champions like zed inherently for there to be less of a need for exhaust.

Oh ya. Forgot about flash

A lot of people take exhaust against Zed in the mid lane simply because it counters him so hard, and the new assassin update made a lot of assassins not "point and click killers with very little counterplay"

Except that it did. They tried to make it harder for many assassins but the change to stealth made it easier. Rengar has all day to choose when and where to go in with his ultimate and you can't spot stealth with pink wards anymore.

What you did just now is take a broken outlier (rengar) and insinuate that he's the norm of the assassin update. In reality, most updated champions had their instant-nuke damage nerfed or created more counterplay around it.

Except that Fizz's ult has a broken hitbox and does more damage than ever, and Katarina's newfound mobility also makes her stronger than she used to be.

When I said

or created more counterplay around it.

that applied to Fizz's ult because now it actually has to travel a distance to do a lot of dmg. A point-blank Fizz ult only tickles while a max-range rewards you significantly

and if Katarina is "stronger than she used to be" then why has her win rate dropped? And I don't mean the initial patch 6.22 where players were still learning, but even a full patch later at 6.23 her win rate is at 47.79% (opposed to her 51.4% pre-update). It's important to note that even players who have 125+ games as her this patch only have a 47.62% win rate, hardly strong.

Personal feelings aside, the actual stats and data show that these guys are hardly broken and have more counterplay than before. Only when extremely fed do they actually 100-0 players still.

Kat's winrate dropped because everyone has to relearn the champion, she's more mechanically difficult than she used to be. Fizz's ult is hardly difficult to hit with its busted hitbox. It can travel at max range and magnet to whoever it wants.
