What happened to Ziggs?

Ok, I realize he got nerfed a few times in a row but he completely disappeared from competitive play AND solo-que. His pick-rate in both settings used to be pretty high and now I haven't seen a Ziggs in months. Why was he abandoned and what does he need to be played more again? Is it just the meta or something more fundamental?

I think the width nerfs on his q was the last straw for me. You can thow your bouncing bomb at your opponent and it can literally bounce over them...after repeated damage nerfs then they made his q less reliable, may as well play xerath.

Basically he got nerfed a lot and Xerath is very similar. Xerath does higher damage with easier to hit skills. Most of Ziggs's kit is zoning tools.

He might make a good comeback with the the new AP item

He's actually a really good champions, it's just when people stop playing a champion in LCS everyone wants to bandwagon.

This. Plus the mana regen nerf really put a hurt on him early game.

Basically what SwapShadows said. Bandwagoners. He's still a pain the ass at all points of the game. I hope the guy never returns. I'm sick of champions that don't need to interact at all to do anything. He's no better than pre-rework nidalee

Xerath does his job better.

His Q hits the whole wave, and is harder to dodge since it's basically insta-cast as opposed to seeing Ziggs throw a bomb and knowing what direction it's going to bounce in.

He has a stun as opposed to Ziggs' slow field. His ultimate is also easier to snipe with, since it's 3 quick bursts instead of one, giant delayed one where you can see it coming and run out of it.

Bitch ass former "ziggs mains" you used to throw your q anywhere on the map and it would hit. Now you have to ACTUALLY FUCKING AIM and its the last straw?

Bascially Ziggs isn't around as much because of the game wide mana regen nerfs. Furthermore, I hope he never makes a comeback because the wave clear meta was boring as fuck.

Also, people learned how to leblanc and that ruined his life.
