What are YOUR thoughts on Shaco?

I will first introduce myself as a Shaco main who started playing Shaco around the start of season 5 and racked up nearly 250k champion points by now. It seems when I play him in ranked, it's a gamble. Either we get fed early and dominate or ganks are not successful and the only glimmer of hope we have is a legendary splitpush that blindsides the enemy.

Most people seem to think that Shaco is a troll pick. Why does Shaco get all of the hate? He seems to get more hate than Teemo. As in Teemo is the one we all pretend to hate and Shaco is the one we all really hate.

Furthermore, he has only been played in the LCS once or twice and no time recently. This has been said because teamwork counters Shaco but if your ward isn't a pink and you are playing against an experienced Shaco then the wards are practically useless and can catch anyone off guard if they aren't under their turret unless the ward is well placed like behind the enemy river bush wall at mid lane (but how many wards can one mid laner have?)

(By the way, I'm not trying to generalize how I have just been treated but it seems most players dislike Shaco for some reason or the players who play Shaco have been treated as trolls or players who are unskilled)

Why do you think Shaco isn't played in the LCS and why he gets all the hate in solo queue?

And seriously any and all views are appreciated.

Probably just because of how hard he falls off into late game supposedly? Like sure, he's a good splitpusher, but he can't really contribute much to teamfights with how squishy he is because his boxes would be instantly destroyed by AoE while his attempts to flank would probably get him killed even if he could kill the ADC or whatever target it was.

Pretty much sums it up. Plus Riot saw fit to nerf him hard into the ground. I wouldn't say he is nerfed to the point where he's unplayable, but it is hard to do much of anything with him as a new player. Because of his weak point at the moment in game, most new players would likely pick him up once, fail, and never try him again. Ever.

Kinda a reason I was hoping to see info on him for the Assassin Update, but we've not really heard much on it.

Depends. AP Shaco or AD Shaco?

AP Shaco is pretty weak. It basically requires you to bait people into killing themselves with your boxes. AD Shaco is okay.

I just hate the champion Its one of the champs that is either super good ganking everywhere completely destroying the enemy jungler (usually the other team) Or is completely useless walks up to people and dies, counter jungles and dies and in general dies a lot (usually my team)

I hate shaco because stopping him is a team effort, which is difficult to find in ranked. Sure I can be playing mid and put out my measly little pink ward where I feel he might be spotted. But that still leaves about six unwarned ways of entry for a blind gank from shaco that, by myself, I can't really deal with. Scum of the earth, definitely.

Shaco isn't played in the LCS because he is almost entirely dependent on item and level advantage, and there are better and safer champs who can do the same job while being good at every stage of the game. The way Riot nerfed him in the past took his power but left all the parts that made him frustrating in the first place. I'm talking about the way his boxes work, the problem with his backstab, and his Q.

I could elaborate on those, but as far as why Shaco gets so much hate...

It's entirely his stealth. However, the problem isn't that he has a stealth+flash on low cooldown, but that, barring Pinks or Red Trinkets, there is very little way inherently to interact with him while stealthed or even know he's coming.

I made this thing about just that issue, but it's a bit all over the place. The gist of it is that everyone who is complaining about Shaco or stealth is begging for more Pinks or the return of Pink Trinket or some nonsense, rather than giving Shaco's stealth (and the other stealth champs) little clues and tell-tale signs inherent to their stealth that lets perceptive players play around them without needing a specific counter item. Unfortunately, you'd be hard pressed to see anyone advocating anything like this. Fortunately, Riot has hinted that this is what they're going to aim towards.

Just for example, I imagine Shaco's Q puff of smoke would be larger and more vibrant, and he would give off an audible laugh that could be heard within a huge range.

And if you're curious, here's my obligatory and shameless Shaco update.

Shaco is just to much risk in the idea of a team game in his concept as a champ. he is feast or famine. if he dont get 2 early kills come mid to late game he is a liability to your team. if he gets ahead and fed its nearly impossible to deal with but that can be said for any champ. i can see the fun of playing him as a champ but when it comes to playing in a team comp considering you have a carry damage mid and a carry damage bot who normally neither have def stats, cc ect then you are putting on your top laner to be sole tank/engage of team where as a support can be a off tank they really do lack the gold income to have full tank items at the point in the game when it matters. i just feel other champs from the jungle role have a bigger impact through out the game. but in the world of 1 vs 1 me league of legends if all 5 of your champs can beat all 5 of theirs then its whatever.

I hate shaco because he basically makes both jungle belong to him. he's not troll but he's also anti fun(teemo of the jungle) .

quite frankly his kit just falls off unless u snowball early. he's pretty trash in terms of teamfighting and has little engage potential. of course, there are a few skilled shacos out there but i haven't seen anyone play him recently in any of my games.
