Is playing a wrong champ in the wrong role report worthy?

I'm not talking about the Singed fiasco. At least the player was in a higher elo. I'm talking about Janna jungle, Zed support. You know those kinds of situations. Usually the team on which these kinds of players are, tend to lose badly due to them being too much of a burden. In normals be it that god-awful blind picks or draft picks, I don't see much of an issue. But in ranked, especially in my elo i.e. bronze doing such a thing would usually result in an instant loss. But is it report worthy?

Are you familiar with one of Riot's video series, Will It Jungle? There were more videos on the same topic, including for Tristana, Taliyah, and Braum.

If they were legitimately trying, and especially if the pick was unprovoked (e.g. people weren't harassing them in pre-game chat before they locked in), then it's not really report-worthy. Many champions are capable of working well in unexpected places; it's how we got things like Malzahar and Miss Fortune support, more recently. With auto-fill frequently foisting people into roles they don't want or in which they don't have a lot of experience, playing a champion you at least know can be far more beneficial than choosing a meta champion you've barely ever used.

I was thinking about Zyra top this morning. Report me.

A Full AP Zyra top was played in S5 one time in competitive, you're safe.

That can at least function similar to a Lissandra

With Rengar support, if you don't get a kill by level 3, ur getting smashed

Realistically it would be less of a burden in bronze.. and no its not. As long as the player is trying to win. It's okay.

Well for the team that is facing the wrong pick obviously it will be easier for them. But what about the team in which the particular player is playing for? They will have huge task of getting anything done

whether it's worthy or not I report them

Uhh...well, if you ask me, the game needs more leagues. If people that are trying to win are still getting matched with people that aren't trying to win, there needs to be leagues for the people not even trying. I also think you should only get allies of the same rank. Opponents can be any rank, just adjust the gain/loss based on the difference. The biggest problem in a team game is when they match players of different ranks together for a team. Since League has individual ranks for each league, there's literally no reason not to adopt this matchmaking method. All the groundwork is there already. If you're in your promos in Bronze 4 for example, all your allies must be Bronze 4 and your opponents must be all Bronze 3 or higher. It's not that complicated.

I used to play Naut APC with Ekko support, and we dominated. Never once lost lane out of 10+ games. Sure it wasn't ideal, but off-meta can work and it's definitely not reportable.

Not entirely,

The issue with this is, When people try out new champions that aren't in the pool for a spot. example Olaf support.

(using olaf cause I've never seen this as a support)

The problem is the moment people see that they automatically go into ( Fuckit we lost mode and just nose dive into negativity / rage mode)

This game is one of the most Unforgiving games, where the creators Want diversity players want diversity, but turn around and report / ban or punish any thing that does not meet the cookie cutter build.

Worthy of a report- unlikely. I really like off-meta. Back when we had trailblazing smite I was a gnar jungle one-trick, but I've all but abandoned the champ because he can barely clear anymore and I'm not a big fan of gnar top. Offmeta is fine, but you have to know what you need to fulfill your role. If you're going soraka jungle, I will probably report you because you're playing a champ to every last one of its weaknesses. The big question is, can you contribute to your team with that champ/role? If not, please reconsider your approach.

Didn't Kikis play gnar jungle back in season 5?

I mean, We've already seen a damn MARKSMEN character being played on SUPPORT role at Worlds by ROX Gorilla and they beat SKT T1 with the strategy whom are two times Worlds Champions.

& Riot Games have already spoken about Ziggs whom is an Artillery Mage being played on BOT role AND have said they welcome ''Diversity''

They want us to break the META but then they ban you for it. Cough That Nunu OTP whom was Challenger in S4 and took two years break and peaked Diamond 1 when he came back and beat a RIOT EMPLOYEE which is PHREAK with his NUNU SUPPORT ROLE WITH SMITE STRATEGY. You know the best part about this is that the PLAYER was playing NUNU on his PRIMARY role that is indicated by RIOT GAMES and has been winning games with this strategy.

Dear Fellow Community! That's what I call HYPROCRISY AT ITS BEST

It depends. There are plenty of strange one trick ponies out there who pull it off quite well.

If someone goes off meta and ends up 0/10, then hell yeah, report them.

I play Ahri Top: Jungle: Mid: Support: (She sucks as apc)

it's too hard to draw the line. if you could report someone for picking a champion that you think isn't very viable... then can you also report someone for picking a champion with a really bad win rate or counterpicking a bad matchup?

I usually have a theory behind why something will work if I'm going to use an off-meta pick, and I practice it thoroughly in normals first.

Speaking of, a pet project of mine is that I want to make Gragas support work. Seems like it wouldn't be that bad.
