Maybe it's just me being a bad player but her Q hitbox is insane for what it looks like. Once, I thought* i dodged it but nope, somehow it still hits me O.o (I attempted to sidestep it)
I keep saying the visuals need updating or clarity. I'm hit worse by her Q from the confusing VFX than I am by Morgana's China-sized Q hitbox.
Like I didn't even graze the side of her Q and it still hits me O.o
This is true for every spell in the game, because the hit boxes of both champions and spells are bigger than the visable models and particles and the corners touching counts as a hit.
Also,
ult is misaligned, so it actually shoots a few degrees counterclockwise of the laser.
also the angle league gives is not entirely accurate. The gameplay of league is only 2d but the graphics are 3d.
Whether or not that's true to the extent as it is for Lux/Morgana, shouldn't the VFX ALWAYS be indicative of the hotbox/parameters of a spell? I'm not talking Latency here, I'm talking about literal invisible power because the spell was missing some VFX coverage.
Lux's ultimate should not be misaligned then, if it actually is or not. I want to reserve judgment on this note because I haven't see a Rioter talk about Lux's spells from a VFX standpoint in a long time, but the lack of clarity particularly in her spells' parameters is among the most evident in League's roster.
It should be, but every skillshot in the game has a misleading hit-box. The top offenders are Varus's Q, Blitz/Thresh's Hook, and Darkness Binding.
Regarding Lux's ult though, it doesn't just aim a few degrees off the red laser that shows your opponents where your ult is. It's a few degrees off the targeting indicator. So new Lux's miss with it for no reason and experienced Lux's hit with it when it should have been dodged.
27.5*
Will this become a meme.
Let's get Laughing Fish and have him make it one.
In the name of Demacia, I will meme you!
Honestly the only thing i HATE about lux is her E.
That is not a skill shot
That is something with a huge radius that only a derp couldn't land

It's ok though, everything in her kit is a skillshot so you just have to dodge her 1000+ damage combo every 28 seconds.
Totally balanced.
Lux's kit is so hard to use, and the skill shots have a lot of counter play. Ever try landing an e or q? Did I forget about the ult hit box? It is so small. [zombie-brand-mindblown] (kappa)
Dang, lux mains can't argue against that.

They will say: "Statistics matter nothing, Lux is not OP"
if she was below 50% win rate at 1-5 and maybe 5-15 and she had a really high playerbase average games, then I'd believe it.
Viktor got the nerfs instead of her.
and talon next
Lux only needs a rank 1-4 Q snare nerfed to 1/1.25/1.5/1.75/2 and E's slow nerfed to 22/24/26/28/30%. Hurts her utility without gutting her and everyone's happy.
I would prefer a nerf to her W mana cost. Right now the main way lux lanes go is: 1 Lux hits you with E 2 Lux wants you to auto you for passive 3 you place ability in between you and her so that she has to eat your skillshot if she wants that passive proc, in which you trade even 4 she can also shield your ability, in which you win the mana trade.
Make her lose the mana trade a little harder. She isn't that broken, numbers are gonna be skewed for such an easy champion, and having safe, long range burst is going to be really powerful in this ADC dominated meta. She has the same counter play she always had, but now she punishes you harder for not using it.
The fact that most people are completely unaware or for some reason never use that part 3 i mentioned is probably inflating the shit out of that winrate. There is a reason you never see players in the LCS have trouble laning against a Lux, and once you know that one trick she becomes a lot easier to deal with (at least in lane).
She already dumps a shxtload of mana, she doesn't need a mana nerf. She just needs the utility nerf to heavily impact her early game.
Her utility lets her support as well. She is supposed to have good utility for high mana costs. She, like Ziggs, is supposed to really blue buff dependent.
Her Q isn't even that bad, all her focus is on the E. She isn't reliant on landing Q, she is reliant on proccing her passive. Right now her play style revolves around poking with E-Passive, and that's a good play style with good counter play, but playing around that is not as rewarding as it should be. Nerfing W also serves to nerf her "safety" a little bit; IE Lux's counterplay is getting on top of her, and now getting on top of her will be more effective
Her Q is her safety, her ulti set up, and her pick play maker.
Nerfing it hurts her early game immensely because unlike E and W it's not defense or offense but both. Lux is one of my 29 mains since 4-5 years ago and harming it would affect her dramatically.
Yea, i said she shouldn't be hit in her Q because she doesn't need that big of a nerf. I also have mained mid since i started playing, which has been on and off for since season 3, playing pretty much every mid champion extensively (have yet to pick up Malz, Syndra, and Yasuo, but I'll get there). Lux is not a hard lane to deal with right now if you now how to deal with it, her Q is her set up late game, her E is both offensive and defensive, her defense is the problem because she should be reliant on good positioning to output her insane long range burst. Nerf her defense, and the best way to do that is her E.
She is like Ahri, she is too safe atm, need to nerf her defensive skill(s).
EDIT: checking your lolking, we're about at the same spot with only two games in ranked and a stupid amount of normals (in my case because i tend to take stupidly long breaks from this game)
Yep but I still feel if we give the complainers just that they'll still complain, I can live with half the duration on rank 1 Q as a lux player. Like the main reason I want to hit her Q for early because unlike swain she does max it 2nd relieving alot of it and the fact I feel that I could probably set up Q->E->R->AA->E->AA in rank 2-3 Q if that nerf went through, the main thing that nerf would hit for me though is pick plays when i'm setting something up while roaming or if someone jumps on me i'll have less time to run away after snaring. I know full well how heavy of a nerf to make Q's duration scaling but I still feel that it will calm the complainers while keeping lux highly playable. I do know what you're talking about though.
Also, I have 3 different account :P all I know is i've been playing from maokai release and the other had 2k matches played.
And referring to when you mentioned taking breaks I love how people complain about a certain meta but don't know taking a break from league is an option (So far I've had 3-5 breaks each being 1-4 months long)
Never give into the complainers. these boards are a terrible basis for almost anything. I mean ffs half this thread is complaining about her Q. have they ever played against lux? Its her E that is actually good. If they want her laning to be weaker (because they rather complain here rather than learn how to lane against her), they would make her E damage scale slightly, because she maxes that first and that damage nerf would only be relevant before she gets levels in her E. That or a mana nerf on W would be very good to actually balance Lux rather than "hurr durr rito plz nerf idw lern how to lane just win my matchups for me plz"
Yeah I have another account in EUW. The only thing I remember for my first run in League is that I quit jungle because I was too lazy to learn the new jungle items in Season 4. I actually have yet to play a single jungle game since then. I have yet to see a meta that has actually been terrible, i just get bored with the game and stop playing for a little.
Yea I'm just gonna go silent for lux nerfs. Hopefully riot doesn't gut her in the time I look away :/
And I actually took breaks because they removed the old TT map the first time then started getting into 5s when returning since the current 3on3 map is just a bruiser focused map.

I think last buffs must reverted.Supposed Qol changes but unnecessary buffs.
Also Riot doesn't gut her.Because Lux does have influence.
Hope riot doesn't gut her, she might need a tad nerfing but I can feel they'll gut.....

An inescapable E is not fun. At least you can dodge ziggs, vicktor, malz, zed, talon, xerath, etc. Poke if you pay attention. Lux's E Ms is insane and the slow nicks you so the poke is garenteed. Free poke that is up every 14 seconds is not fun. Plus, if you try to trade she can just Q making it hard to retatiate. If she is 6 she can just ult you without worrying about CD.
You can't dodge E because that isn't the main point of E. E doesnt do that much damage on its own, especially early on. The whole point of her E is to get a passive proc, and passive procs can be easily denied if you know how to play around them. It also isn't free, it has quite a mana cost. The passive follow up is free, but less reliable. A follow up Q after E can be dodged even though it is harder to do so, Q is also only a snare so you can still deny passive proc by putting a skill shot where you know she is going to walk up. And if she just used her Q to snare you and then proceeded to walk into auto attack range, chances are you will have ample opportunity to retaliate. Her ult is pretty much her entire point, long range burst. She isn't that OP, she's just a little on the strong side right now, she can use a nerf, and I think hitting her safety (Specifically her W) is a good way to go about it.
Who do you usually play into her?

I play Viktor normally (rip minion clear). I have noticed that she can just out poke any other mage. She doesn't need to follow up with passive if she can just poke you down to where you must use your abilities to farm. I have played against lux in many game (me not always being the one mid against her) recently and all they do is max E and rush ludons echo. It's reliable fast poke that can be spammed and easier to hit than xerath's. Also, I have rarely seen a lux run out of mana early before I'm lower than 1/4 health. If you run up to her she can just E and use the slow so Q can hit. Not only that if you get hit by the Q post 6 you might as well go to the store menu. She is so safe when playing against other mages it's down right not fun. She gets countered by assassins, guess who is getting banned these days. Assassins. It's her prefect storm to instantly win Lane since all the other mages are not as reliable as her anymore.

omfg get out !!!! from the wiki now you come complain on the boards. We know she needs nerfs and riot will do his job.
Yea riot will nerf her the wrong way and gut her probably -_-

No, nerf the speed on the E and up the ult it the likes of rumble ult because it is basically one.
Rumble's ulti does heavier damage and is a zoning tool. Lux's is nowhere near that.

But you know.Rumble ult cd?
Please you don't compare.
They're the ones comparing lux and rumble's ulti.
keep in mind the 19.58% play rate, it means nearly anyone with basic league knowledge can pick up lux and win with her. personally i know a couple of people who did that exactly
Also iv seen so many luxes lately wining lanes vs zeds, im not a zed fan but an immobile mage with those set of skills shouldn't be wining vs zed, she is clearly over tuned
I literally got Lux on ARAM once when she was on the rotation. Had little idea what I was doing, still got like 7 kills before my first death.
I mean lux actually has a really good matchup vs zed and always has. Your W makes you pretty hard to kill, if he ults you just Q behind you, you've got E poke to match/beat his Q poke...
And I don't agree that ALL immobile mages should lose to Zed. Any mage with CC and decent poke can do quite well against him.
Not saying Lux doesn't need nerfs, but your argument as to why they're needed is pretty weak.
As someone who plays lux sometimes can agree that unless you're against a really good zed, you can probably win with her.
I think if she needs a nerf, it probably should hit the ult. CD.
Apparently people just bad at playing vs her.
Game length doesn't stop your team from walking into light bindings.
Looks like you guys have forgotten about something:
Lux mains did not ask for buffs she received. They only wanted MINOR mana cost changes. It was Riots initiative to go full retard with buffs. So be so kind and don't blame all Lux mains for playing Lux just cause Riot does dumb stuff, k?
I'd hope only for some 0,5 to even 1s channel on Lux ultimate, cause running away from it is just INSANELY hard.

As a Lux main I may be a bit biased, but I think adding a channel is the wrong way to nerf her. Hitting it (against opponents that pay attention) on someone who isn't snared by your q is actually pretty hard, and all a channel would do is punish players for trying to line up a snipe.
I think a better need would be hitting her ult cool down and/or her utility
It's not as much as nerfing her, as giving enemies a chance to do anything.
And in most of cases Lux is using full combo from close range, so it's all good.
Meddler and Lyte were saying they were going to nerf her after Talon's dealt with.
