Is Nidalee Support viable?

Great luck with it in-lane chunking enemy carries and/or executing them, healing my ADC for around 60% of their max health with a max-rank E, etc. etc.

Is it a valid thing? She brings no CC, but makes up for it by being a hybrid enchanter/burst mage, possibly even a tank.

No, her poke is unreliable, her Q is like Morgana Q, but no utility. She has no cc, no high enough damage to burst target (given enemy sup and adc are together), no tankiness to leave once in melee Her only utility is heal, which is only good for low HP; and buff

We can take other non-meta/weird picks, that are still viable and played. Kayle She has cc She can heal ally decently, but only once itemized and maxed, and buff She can apply invulnerability on ally So she can fulfill basic utlity support duties: has heal, has cc, has saves, has debuffs

JarvanIV He has 3 cc, one of which is hard cc He can poke and all-in, having tankiness to leave once in melee He can soak damage He can buff and debuff So he can fulfill basic all-in tanky support duties: has good cc, has tankiness to go in and soak damage.

You can definitely do it, and I love to do it.

But, it's a lot more situational than a Lux Morgana support.

My best advice is:

"I want to pick Soraka Sona, but I want more damage / poke / roaming potential. "

then move on to

"Do I want more burst / poke damage and healing emphasis than Bard, or do I need the CC?"

Nid support just isn't the same as it was before. It's very much just a famine play style for her. Unless you take every kill and then roam to snowball other lanes. If you're going to do that you might as well play jungle.

Pros: She does have a very potent heal and attack speed steroid, and some free vision provided by her W. Furthermore, she can ward safely and quickly thanks to her passive and Pounce. She has insane base damage and is relevant even with relatively little AP. Pounce and Swipe can help with wave management against champions like Sivir.

Cons: She's very level dependent, and supports are often the lowest level in the game. She has zero crowd control. Her spear is unreliable for poke or harass in lane, and her Cougar form abilities require her to enter melee range.

Her pros are only decent compared to other Enchanter supports, and her cons are significant. It's fringe viability.

Any support with no CC wont really help you and you'll feel it eventually. Also Nid is gold hungry for AP items.

I dont recommend it but in lower elo anything is possible. People have climbed to masters with Rek sai support.

It used to be pretty good. Shes gotten a lot of delays though on her toss Q though. It used to be faster between hitting the button and it being casted. Which makes it all that harder to hit someone beside it costed abunch of mana. Playing nidalee as ADC though she's pretty good. She has an attack speed steroid, execution with her Q as well as invisible wards she just won't scale to late game like other adc's. If you have your heal's plus support heals their's no way either of you will get pushed out of lane.

You can do it, but you're probably better off picking Lux or Vel'koz, especially if you're doing it for the damage. Both have decent cc, which is something you rob your team of if you pick Nid support.

It isn't really a good idea but if you get Ardent it's fun. Ardent on max rank E gives like 130% attack speed which is huge.

You'd get destroyed by hard engage supports, like Leona Thresh Blitzcrank Braum Nautilus since your only skill helping your mate is your E (healing), all you could do is watching him die

You want poke/damage? Just pick Brand. You want heal? Just pick Soraka. Support with no CC is NOT a support. Think I'm wrong? Try playing Nidalee & saving your ADC from a 3 man gank. You want to play Nidalee? Play her somewhere else.

On average, no, she's not. Pretty much everything she brings to the table as a support is done better by someone else. The only cases I've seen where it actually worked recently involved the Nidalee playing super aggressive to beat down the enemy lane and let her ADC just farm, but in all those cases the enemy team had no idea how to deal with it.

not anymore no, unless her traps deal their post rework % max hp damage or tier pre-rework 80 damage lvl 1 plus % MR and armor shred.. she wont be.

i played her in support season 3, season, pre and post rework and up until patch 5.5 where the destroyed her ability to support by gutting her traps

why the hell they made gutted her traps instead of lowering the pre-existing cap of 200 vs jungle mobs is beyond me.

i mean "oh noes she is too strong in the jungle with the cap of 200 we implemented to try to stop her from becoming too strong in the jungle..."

instead of lowering the cap we have already implemented at the lvl 1 traps to a more reasonable value vs jungle mobs that we purposely went out of her way during her rework to implement so this issue wouldn't occur... let swap it back to flat damage like pre-rework but lets give her traps 40 damage until lvl 14, half the pre-rework value of 80.. lets not give her the aoe back she lost on the rework aoe, remove the armor and magic % shred she had pre-rework. and lets HALF the ap scaling ratio as well.

because we at riot really thought this one thru.
