There are about 2 picks per role at MSI

Instead of just nerfing champions, why not just buff others?

So they nerf a champion, buff another who becomes the flavor of the month. Luckily we haven't seen one of the lcs players go Irelia tank because the last thing we need is to see an Irelia every game in solo que building rageblade, triforce, then going full tank.

out of 288 picks and bans, only 38 champions out of our 130 potential picks.

Its definitely 3 or less per role on average, more being forced only because bans prevent one or two from being picked in some cases.

Its not over-lapping. Its that some are so obscenely better purely from a numbers perspective that there's no reason not to pick them. An example is how Irelia and Jax 'overlap'. They both want to do the exact same things, yet they function in two entirely distinct ways, build differently, and feel entirely different. Yet these two are not having a tug-o-war of which is better, thus picked.
