Plants
I'm fairly new to this game (been around since s6 midseason) and I want to know: is it every season that they revamp the jg and change everything so that jglers have no clue what's going on or did I just hit a rough patch

Every season from what I can tell..pre-season 6 There were no smite buffs like vision ward from wolves, or ward detecting..Also dragon buffs were new this season
so what was dragon for before s6?
It was just a dragon that gave gold to your whole team. Nothing else.
dragon gave more than gold it gave different things based on how many times you beat it
That was the stacking dragon, a precursor to this one. I am talking about the original dragon, which was just gold.

That was pre season 5. In season 5 it was a dragon that had 5 stages of buffs (Same as 6 before elementals)
so what was dragon for before s6?
It gave bonus damage to structures, damage to minions and monsters, ap/dp, movement speed I believe, and a burn finally. Your buff would depend on how many times you would kill it and dragon was not rng.
IMO the best junglers are the ones who are able to adapt to the constant changes being made to the jungle. Besides, all these new changes keep the game interesting.
They've been doing this every year since I joined back in 2010. It's why I don't main jungle in ranked. Not worth the resource investment when everything you know could change in a patch.
