A plea from a 200k mastery Yorick support main...

The Yorick rework is going to come with some big adjustments to Yorick's playstyle, and I intend to cope with them. However, Rioters have stated that they prefer not to destroy off-roles/builds on champions because allowing them often adds to the depth of the game. I have long seen Yorick as the Enchanter Juggernaut and will miss his flexible/supportive ultimate... I have Tier 7 and over 200k mastery from supporting as Yorick. I only request that some attention be put into making sure Yorick remains at least borderline viable in the role. I would also like for him to remain viable in the jungle, but this thread is specifically for support Yorick.

Please, Riot, balance Yorick's early-game ghoul generation and Q in a way that will allow him to synergize with Relic Shield and the support role. Support Yorick cannot spam his Q to last-hit minions, so balancing it around a long early-game cooldown and stronger early-game heal will help support Yorick use it to synergize with Relic Shield to survive the opposing bot laners' relentless poking.

I suggest this:

Last Rites (Q) Mana Cost: 25 ⇒ 35 Cooldown: 7/6.5/6/5.5/5 ⇒ 17/14/11/8/5 Yorick's next basic attack deals 30/55/80/105/130 (+140% Total AD) ⇒ 50/70/90/110/130 (+140% Total AD) physical damage and restores 12-82 ⇒ 56-90 health (doubled when below half Health). Last Rites will leave a grave if it kills the target. Heal value is 12/14/16/18/20/22/26/30/34/38/42/46/52/58/64/70/76/82 ⇒ 56/58/60/62/64/66/68/70/72/74/76/78/80/82/84/86/88/90.

This would greatly help Yorick function as a support. For top-lane Yorick, this would make CSing a bit harder if you rely on Q as an aid to last-hit, but it would open up potential for bigger clutch heals early on if you risk saving it for when you are below 50% health in a fight. Top-lane Yorick can also afford to get some early AD, so last-hitting shouldn't be too hard anyways.

Increasing the Q cooldown would reduce the potential number of Graves Yorick can spawn early on from last-hitting. To compensate for this and as a further gift to support Yorick (who can't last-hit CS except with Relic Shield), I suggest this passive change:

Final Service: Every 12/8/4th (at level 1/7/13) ⇒ 6th (4th after level 13) enemy unit that dies near Yorick will leave a grave. Enemy champions will always leave a grave.

With 70 minions in total coming to a lane over 5 minutes, Yorick could potentially last hit 42 of them with a 7 second Q, and with 1 grave passively spawning per 12 minions, that would be a potential maximum total of 42+5 = 47 graves. With a 17 second Q, Yorick could generate 17 graves by last-hitting over 5 minutes, and with 1 passive grave per 6 minions, he could produce 17+11=28 graves. Support Yorick needs relic shield charges to CS, which have a 40 second cooldown, so support Yorick could produce 7+11=18 graves with this buff... Or 7+5=12 without... In any case, lategame Yorick would produce graves at roughly the same rate (unless he's farming champions for those guaranteed graves).

By the way, I did make a more detailed feedback thread when the finished rework was first leaked, but it had a lot of reading material and couldn't compete very long for attention with the meme gifs or nerf ekko/yasuo threads... http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/gameplay-balance/PBfjWrOB-yorick-rework-is-out-feedback-from-a-tier-7-yorick-main

Thanks for reading.

You're asking them to balance Yorick around the support role? Those changes are a huge hit to Top Yorick early which is by far his primary role (and has been for a very long time). Sorry dude, but rebalancing Yorick for the .000001% of people who play him support is just a horrible idea

I also dont understand:

Cooldown: 7/6.5/6/5.5/5 ⇒ 17/14/11/8/5

You want his Q super buffed but dont want to sacrifice any cooldown at level 5? How is that fair?

With the right numbers, it would only change top-lane Yorick's earlygame playstyle without altering his total power. Lategame, there would be no actual change (slightly higher mana cost on Q, but mana isn't a lategame issue). I leave the exact numbers up to Riot development/balance teams. The numbers in the opening post are examples to show the general desired direction. Buffing support Yorick wouldn't need to be a nerf to top Yorick, though there is the possibility that top Yorick will need minor nerfs after release anyways. It isn't as though pre-rework Yorick has been nerfed due to his supporting or jungling, yet those are still roles pre-rework Yorick can fill.

I am not asking for Yorick to be "balanced around" his support off-role. I am just asking for his support role to be given some consideration in this rework. The same goes for his jungle role.

No. You are still asking Yorick to be balanced more around Relic Shield which is completely irrelevant 99.9% of the time. Why would riot balance a champ around an item that he never ever uses?

Granting him synergy with Relic Shield for supporting doesn't need to be an overall subtraction from his top lane power budget. Like I mentioned, pre-rework Yorick has never been "balanced around" his supporting or jungling, yet they've been roles he could fill while maintaining top as his primary role. I am not asking for Yorick's primary role to be shifted to support. I am asking for him to not lose all of his role/lane flexibility, which he has always had before this rework. Riot has stated that they wish to keep off-roles when possible, so I am offering suggestions on how that can be accomplished in this rework.
