Cripple Discussion

There's been some discussion on the possibility of a Cripple CC effect (namely around Garen) and there's also been some confusion on what it would really do. For most people I've talked to, Cripple would disable all jumps, blinks and dashes for the duration, like a limited silence. For the sake of reference, here is a complete list of every jump/blink/dash in the game, which would be disabled by Cripple: Disabled Mobility Spells: summoner 4 summoner 32 Aatrox Q Ahri R Akali R Alistar E Amumu Q Azir E Braum W Caitlyn E Corki W Diana R Ekko E, R Elise Spider Q, Spider E Ezreal E Fiddlesticks R Fiora Q Fizz Q, E Gnar E (both forms) Gragas E Graves E Hecarim R Irelia Q JarvanIV R Jax Q Jayce Hammer Q Kassadin R Katarina E Khazix E Leblanc Both casts of E and R'd E LeeSin Second cast of Q, first cast of W Leona E Lissandra E Lucian E Malphite R Maokai W MasterYi Q Nautilus Q Nidalee Cougar W Nocturne Second cast of R Pantheon W Poppy E Quinn E (both forms) RekSai Burrowed E Renekton E Riven Q, E Sejuani Q Shaco Q Shen E Shyvana R Sion R Talon E Thresh Second cast of Q Tristana W Tryndamere E Vayne Q Vi Q, R MonkeyKing E XinZhao E Yasuo E Zac E Zed Second cast of W, both casts of R Ziggs W

Debatable: summoner 12 Bard E Hecarim E JarvanIV Q or E Kalista Passive LeeSin First cast of Q Pantheon R Rengar Passive (including during R) Shen R TahmKench R Thresh First cast of Q, W TwistedFate Second cast of R

This is now a discussion on Cripple. So....discuss.

Wow, thanks for this. Must've taken a lot of work.

Anyway, just to clarify, the CC "cripple" cannot include a slowing effect. If Riot wants, a crippling ability can slow as well, but there's no reason to arbitrarily say that a cripple must include a slow. There are 3 reasons for this.

  1. They're two different types of CC. If Riot wants a crippling move to slow, they can just add a slow to that specific move/champion.

  2. We're not trying to define a CC that matches the word 'cripple'. Cripple is just being used to describe the type of CC we are hoping to introduce: a simple disabling of mobility spells.

  3. Reducing MS alongside it would harm immobile champions, who are specifically supposed to be relatively unaffected by cripples. I.E. Mordekaiser. Cripple means nothing to him. Unless you attach a slow.

So, for the sake of discussion, Cripple is as OP listed: strictly a CC that disables mobility spells. Thanks again, OP.

It wasn't that bad, just about 30 minutes of checking the wiki for keys on obscure champs and making judgement calls.

And yeah, I pretty much agree with all of this.
