Shared experience in the botlane is a bummer.

#Disclaimer: yes, this is another post about the current state of supports. If you want to read more discussions on this subject, I'll include links to previous discussions at the bottom.

When you share a lane, the experience points per minions slain are split equally, though they give 30% more exp. This means you gain only 50% exp from minion deaths in a botlane, and it's easy to discern how it pans out further . 2Champions:65% 3 Champions :43% 4 Champions:32,5% 5 Champions:26%

The consequence of the diminished experience are two: **1)Support and ad carries are behind in levels to any other role. 2) Junglers, due to jungle monsters average levels, also gain less experience from underleveled monsters. ** The implications of the first case are almost obvious, adc and supports will have a worse early, and be more vulnerable to laners and jungler threat during midgame. ADC having a weak early is often considered a good tradeoff for their late, but reducing the base stats of supports because they are underleveled is not a pleasant thing as they can't make up for that weakness with gold in any stage of the game. Junglers being underleveled is somewhat more manageable, as they often get assists against laners mid and top who, being ahead in level, grant more experience (75% of the exp the killed champ needs to level up)

Suggestion Instead of splitting the exp equally, make the exp still lower but not as harsh. Example: 1 champion, 100% 2 Champions:75% 3 champions:50% 4 Champions 40% 5 Champions 35% Ofc, with 30% less exp from minions adc and supports would still be behind, but not as harsh as they currently are.

To bad your original math is wrong.... When there are more people in a lane the amount of EXP goes up. While it does not even go up by 50% it does bump up.

So please try again and here is your down vote cause you do not know what you are talking about.

Sauce? Because LoL wiki states the contrary. "Killing minions in League of Legends grants an amount of experience upon their death. The experienced gained by the champion is determined by the type of minion. Experience from minion deaths is split between all champions within 1400 range."

While I don't think you would forge information, I'd rather believe the wiki than you. http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Experience_(champion)

Arkblue, read that same page you linked

V1.0.0.138 changes Experience split when two or more champions are present increased; situations with two or more champions splitting experience now earn 30.4% more total experience than solo, up from 26.1%.

When there are 2 champs on the same lane the amount of exeprience increases

This doesn't make the situation really different. So, minions yeld 30% more exp. 130%/2=65% If what we are discussing is that laners end up ahead in levels just by being laners, the exp being 35% less instead of 50% still means that , yes, support and adcs are behind in term of exp.

The core problem is that being underleveled for sharing a lane is quite an issue. Especially with the mobility creep . If you have the Scuttler Crab shrine, ganking bot as a midlaner is a breeze, compared to season 2 where you had 320 base movement speed.

Different experience curve was a valauable strategic asset to consider back then, but now that lane interactions are so frequent it just means that those who share a lane have to be twice as careful of those who don't as their botlane incursions consume less time and gold.

Well, it does, given the difference is much smaller than what you originally thought in comparison with your suggestion. This without considering that being usually against 2 enemy champs you have the possibility to get more gold through champions kills/assists, and you have an easier access to dragon thus having more chances to get experience than, let's saying, a solo top laner

Does not, as far as a laner can get to 11 while bot is at 8-9 with the same cs and number of recalls.

I might have overestimated the experience gap on theory, but I witness what happens in game every time I play. And is from what I witnessed that I opened the topic, not stumbling on the wiki page.

And about dragons: V4.20: No longer grants global gold. Rewards are now tied to the buffs of Dragon Slayer. #Experience granted to the killing team reduced by 50%

This affects supports a lot, as I discussed in another thread,as they also have less ap, and zero bonus ad, to scale with the first dragon slayer stack.

"Same cs and number of recalls" Well, your supports is there to avoid that an ADC has to recall as much as the other laners. And supports have a mastery available to get back on exp if they are forced to recall to allow his ADC to actually remain in lane The experience gap exists, of course, but is obvious how this minor disadvantage is hugely compensated by all the advantages that there are by having a solo bot lane as compared to any other possible set-up

That's nonsense, why adc and laners should recall differently? There is a point in the game where you have to recall, point. It's not Dota2, if the enemy recalls with enough cs for a BF and he doesn't , there is no way, he will be able to win the following trades. Same for laners, altough with different items: even with perfect sustain, there is a point where, if the enemy recalls, you have to recall too to be still on equal terms in lane.

No one has someone that protects him from enemy trades but the ADC and avoid him to recall before getting the gold to get his items. 1 thing is to recall only when you have enough gold to get your main item, another thing is to be forced to recall multiple times before because you are facing the enemy trades and are losing further CS this way

Just because you are a solo laner, you aren't supposed to eat all the harass the enemy throws at you. Sustain and health management is a skill bot as much as mid or top.

I love people that can not even read their own source material.

It's increased by 30%, but that doesn't change you get 50% less. I don't want a 100% increase, but without a 100% increase it doesn't make up for the fact that you have always 2 people in a lane sharing exp. That point still stands.

Oh you would have loved this game before they gave duo lanes bonus exp.

Only mid mattered. We ran ADC mid because it was the only way the ADC was gonna carry.

Be happy that bot lane is relevant. In fact it's so relevant that a lot of people think it's too relevant. Buffing the exp further would be a disaster.

Knight Devout1 votes

You mean when people played support only if they were last pick, or threatened? Fun times.

Plus, "some people" that thinsk that bot lane is too relevant, who are they? Except assassins who get Whimsy-ed by Lulu, that is. Support is the role with the least amount of gold, and least amount of exp.

Keeping them in par with solo laners would only make them less easy target to pick off for fed midlaners who have time to roam.

Hello there , i can answer in a few of your questions . 1st of about the stats you mentioned about the supports are lower cause some supports are actually overpowered with their CC so adding actually good stats on a support wouldn't make them supports , for example leona , if she had good stats with good ap/ad ratios on her spells , would make her a monster in toplane or jungle . also the game got some strategies and logic behind it which makes it unique from other games , so botlane is one of these things . also if the exp mechanic were about to change to exact the equal to each champion there would be no need for junglers in alot of situations , also the game would be end alot faster than usually cause after 20-25 minutes people gather alot in lanes together or on objectives so the amount of exp would be way to huge and they would hit eventually alot faster lvl18 . hope i was clearly enough cause my english ain't the best , have a nice day.

Late reply, but what I meant is not that the support needed more base stats, but that being behind in levels also mean you have less stats. Anyway, the situation quite changed so this is no longer relevant.
