Easy solution to help mordekaiser in solo lane.

Easy, make it so mordekaiser can cast w on himself but just make it different when he does so, example:

Self cast: Mordekaiser gains 10% damage reduction for 6 seconds

Ally cast: Same as current juggernaut mordekaiser.

So this way if we wants to cast it on himself he doesn't get the same benefits as with an ally he just gets something different that helps him in solo lane, I'm not a morde main but I think this could work.

Whether 10% damage reduction would be good or not is not the point though, it's just an example to show what I mean, that morde should be able to w himself, not that he should get the same bonus as with an ally but that he should get some kind of aide from his w even when just using it by himself, this will help solo lane morde and still allow bot lane morde to be what I think Riot wants it to be, it also means that if your support is afk then you're not totally screwed.

Thoughts? :)

I'm not a mordekaiser player myself but I can see this being useful, him not being able to use his w on himself is pretty stupid, I like your idea of him getting a different kind of buff when he casts it on himself, like namis w kind of lol with her enemy and ally bounce how it's different when you cast it on a different target.

Yeah I suppose it's similar to namis W in the sense that it's different depending on who it was cast on, and I think the "different depending on who it was cast on" is a really cool thing that Riot could work on in maybe future champion development because I like that whole idea.

Here's my take:

  • Bring his base MS back up a bit, from 325 to 335. This is important to top/mid Morde, because right now he walks like a pile of steel with diabetes.

  • Increase Morde's autoattack animation time. This will make his mace feel "heavier"; it will also give melee champs more time to react to his third Q hit.

  • W's XP passive needs to be removed. It rewards playing safe, and clutters his power budget. It needs to go. In return, let Morde cast W on himself, even when an ally is not around; but make it so he has to cast it on an allied champion to access the healing component. This will keep his incentive to lane with a partner.

  • R's damage and ghost damage was nerfed with the rework. Adding the Dragon Ghost passive made him super strong, though. Simply nerfing his dragon will leave both abilities feeling weak; but what if we merge the passive into the active?

Active: Mordekaiser curses target enemy or the Dragon, and steals (x%) of its health per second over 11 seconds in magic damage. If the target is killed by him or his team in this time, Mordekaiser steals 25% of its total HP and 30% of its total AP, and gains it as a controllable ghost. The ghost has [stats] plus [bonus stats from its items].

Interesting conceps but I think we can all agree morde just needs to be able to cast w on himself

Yes I definitely agree with that, but we need to look at his duo laning as well as his solo.

His duo laning will still be too powerful if they just let him cast W on himself. He's overpowered right now in bot lane. They will nerf him eventually.

So we need to make precautions for that by nerfing the things that make duo lane Morde too strong, as well as buffing the things that make solo lane Morde exist.
