Why do some MELEE have more range than others?

I have noticed that champs like and have the standard 125 range.

I have also noticed that champs like and have 175 range. Is their any reasons for these range differences?

fizz jarvan and hecarim all have polearms/spears. xin xhao has 175 range too

Wukong too. IIRC Pantheon has 150 since his spear is shorter ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

It's generally sorta thematic.

Zed uses hand claws, which are shorter range. Jarvan uses a long lance.

Jax uses a mace-type deal (Lamppost). Hecarim uses a halberd (And he's big as hell).

Spears are suppose to have longer range to represent their longer range in real life

The only BS one is Yasuo who basically uses a Sword which should be AT MOST 150. However its 175. I just consider this part of CertainlyT OP BS

His Saya is pretty long, it doesn't really LOOK silly in-game. I am pretty sure they did this to make it easier for him to lane mid vs ranged. Not that crazy.

Limitation of Sheathe There is a limit to how long a sword can be and still be possible to draw it from a Sheathe

If he didn't use a sheathe, it could easily be explained as a Cavalry sword.

In short, Yasuo uses a standard size sword and should be 125 Range. At most I would allow 150. However saying his weapon is as long as an EXTENDABLE POLEARM is just plain BS
