If you waste a QSS active on him, you're probably bad enough that you wont even think of buying it in the first place. Also walking out of a skill isnt "counterplay" he zoned you out, and it's range is pretty impressive for a point and click slow and DoT. Thats like saying yasuo's counterplay is to just sit under turrer and dance

it has a lot more counterplay than Ryze's old kit did. Decrepify doesn't even get to do it's full damage if you run out of it, so it wasn't worth the mana it cost.

"More counterplay than Ryze" isn't exactly a big compliment.

"waste"? you just removed 20% of his damage + a 400 damage dot+ a slow/90% AP dot and the cooldown is very long and he will heals less with his ulti.

i don't find removing every damage of a champion similar to sit under turret against yasuo, you have to be blind to see this.

and walking out of a zone is indeed counterplay, else sion's ulti doesn't have counterplay, same for sion's Q, same for kennen ulti or fiddle ulti or Malzahar W

do you like this, or getting to play against Fizz for example?

Difference is, you can walk out of sion's Q before the knockup and majority of damage is applied, it also stops him and he had to channel It. Kennen and fiddle are ultimates, they will be used once a teamfight if at all, and one takes a long channel time. Swain's Just point and click and you are immediately slowed and take damage, there is no channel, no place to dodge or outplay , just go far away while takimg damage and hope swain doesnt snare you while you run while being slowed.

i put zhonya here, i'm dumb, you don't even need it against swain as a mage since you have x10000 more range than him

also, none buys this item, you should do it if you want to win

Sadly, many people deny that counter-building is a form of counter-play.

These are the same people who refuse to deny counter-picking is another valid form of counter-play.

Or that altering your playstyle or taking advantage of enemy cooldowns is counterplay.

If it involves any change whatsoever to their playstyle, don't expect many players to use it.

depend on the item and how it counters

QSS costs 1300 gold, give you mr on top of this, and you don't waste offensive since item 3139 is a good rush since the preseason item 3123 is gold efficient and costs 800 gold, can be upgraded no lose of offensive power

in this case it's impossible to not be able to counter-building.

i mean, swain isn't in all of our games i for my part didn't play against him since at least 5 months, and riot still nerf him. but one thing i'm sure of it, it's that if i play against him i will build item 3123 and item 3140 on ezreal/lucian
