With this new patch, I think Veigar is gonna be like Shaco

Enemy Veigar: God/Veigar main Team's Veigar: Awful

For the first time since his nerfs, I saw a Veigar become godlike. Yes, an enemy Veigar with TP actually won vs Leblanc and then relentlessly ganked more than LB all while having more CS than LB. I'd be a bit happier if it weren't for the fact it was an enemy Veigar in my promos (RIP) Stun's still not instant, ult ratio's still down, and DFG's still gone but it the stun is a lot quicker now, apparently quick enough to catch a LB. If that's the case, then there's definitely some extra leeway for an experienced Veigar to make da plays

Stun went from 1 second until casted to .75.

Still relies pretty heavily on enemy stupidity or other people's CC to be useful.

Actually, .5 sec the instant he presses the button. So actually I think they actually kinda made Veigar suddenly playable for Veigar mains while still unplayable to people who just picked him up...like Shaco

Oh and also, his Q's a LOT quicker than before, On PBE where it went to 2200 speed, I think that's gotta be one of the fastest skillshots in the game now

No, it changed from a .25 second casting delay for him and a .75 second delay with the warning to the warning happening during his cast delay. It went from 1 second (.25 cast + .75 warning) to .75 (.25 cast happening at same time as .75 warning).

Someone has to be wrong, the problem is I'm not sure WHO it is (since both you, and the patch notes are saying two different things; and I haven't gotten to try it yet ingame)

The notes say the casting delay was removed (well, sort of anyway; you know the whole deal with that) AND that the delay on the skill itself was reduced, whereas you're saying ONLY the casting delay was removed.

Edit: Specifically the notes say

E - Event Horizon DELAY BEFORE WALLS APPEAR 0.75 ⇒ 0.5 WARNING PARTICLE DISPLAY After cast time ⇒ On cast

Veiger was OP before the changes and is still very strong. Those who complain are just bad.

38% win rate plat+ for 5.4, which is about 10% lower than it was the previous patch.

Those who weren't effected nearly as bad were in Bronze, where his win rate dropped about 5%.

It would stand to reason that those who didn't complain about the changes were just bad.

These changes were way over the top and they ruined a perfectly good champ. Only thing I wonder is if it was for some future change they aren't sharing with the boards or if they just didn't get enough feedback from the pbe.

Turns out a point and Click CC Initiator used in CONJUNCTION with Veigar is pretty godly, and his Q coupled with item 3116 gives him decent mid-game kite.

I'm going to let you in on a little Secret. If you put the over the center of your opponent, and then drop a W in the center of that cage, your opponent cannot avoid the W without burning flash, even if he makes the choice to purposefully stun himself. What Cage does now, is it turns your Q and W into auto-hit skillshots. It's still a decent dis-engage, and a really good teamfight tool.

But if you're Insistent on Using your cage like an Old Veigar. Make sure you have a jungler or support like I'm certain I missed a few, but EVERY one of those champs has a tool that can be used with Veigar's W in order to guarantee a snare with the Cage.
