Thresh VS Blitzcrank

Who is the better support? For me Thresh has the much better kit but is a bit more mechanically challenging. I'd say that his lantern is probably one of the best spells in the game. Thresh just has a better team oriented kit, but he is an issue sometimes in solo que if your team does not want to work together. While Blitz does have a faster pull and is better,in my opinion, for picks the main asset to his kit i believe is his aoe silence ult. While it is only for .5 seconds that can be the difference from someone flashing out or dying.

Id like to hear your thoughts on the matter!

For Solo Queue, definitely Blitzcrank.

Blitzcrank's hook is an instant displacement and is immediately understandable by your whole team. When Blitz lands a hook, it means "kill this thing I hooked". And everyone gets it.

The amount of unused thresh lanterns in Solo Queue is unreal. The hook is also not nearly as clear as a Blitzcrank hook and getting hook lantern plays is not going to happen.

In Professional play, definitely Thresh. Vision limits Blitz a ton and flay/lantern/hook offer way more play making options.

thresh is, without a doubt, the better support, as he provides more utility. this depends on how good you are with him though. if you can't play thresh well it's better to play blitzcrank.

Once you have mastered the flay to cancel jumps you are good haha its the most enjoyable thing in the world

in my opinion it's the most satisfying to predict someone's flash/dash with death sentence. gets me a ton of praise from my team too, especially in low elo :D

Thresh is by far the better support. Blitz is just cheesy and snowbally, which is why he's so good for solo queue.

People always compare their pulls. Though both pulls can be terrifying, it's easier to get out away from Blitz (especially if he couldnt use his knock-up punch) and you're using a champ like Trist or Corki. Getting hooked by Thresh could be the death of you because of how long it stuns you. It is after all called "Death Sentence." Plus if the stun is not long enough, it's easy to land the flay.

Yeah and if you hook the wrong person you have the choice to not continue with the hook while with blitz its just o gawd xD

Ima Thresh main so i understand. I enjoy playing him when i have a duo though hes a bit less reliable when you dont know how your team reacts.

Lol top tier soloq supports being "weak."

Blitzcrank's hook is for immobile carries like Ashe, MF, or Jinx. It is harder to react to unlike Thresh's hook where you have a second to predict where he will throw it (and it's usually towards your tower so its best often to walk forward). Thresh is more peel oriented. In the thresh vs blitzcrank lane for example.. the lantern on the ADC when they are hooked reduces about 30% of the trade overall, and the flays on dashes. Etc. Blitz is for making picks and turning the game into a 4v5.

Thresh is useless unless you and your team is on the same page. I mean maybe in lower elos he is a bit more relevant to the soloq player but other than laning phase when your adc goes in with every hook etc if your team doesnt follow you are just jumping into an enemy team and dying. This is why i enjoy Janna so much because you just shield provide a bit of CC and then Disengage which does not require your teams help lol

Thresh has TONS more utility than Blitz, that gives him the edge. Blitz is basically a one trick pony, but he can turn games around quicker than almost any champion. Being able to pretty much instantly turn a fight into a 4v5 is huge.

Thats why i think blitz has a somewhat edge in soloq. A pick on a disoriented team really just puts some people down. Especially when you gank mid 4 times by level 6 lol

If you are just talking solo q, Blitz may indeed be the better pick since you can actually carry with him in YOLO Q.
