Malz ult+Passive ruins the potential of his kit and theme through power budget

Malz ult is insanely strong, so strong in fact that even with serious nerfs consistently since his rework we've seen him still as an extremely effective high elo pick.

This is because he has a ridiculous suppression and a free banshee'a veil

without his ultimate he has his voidlings, which have been nerfed quite a bit, his DoT, and his Q, which while making him good at shoving, don't really help him in 99% on 1v1 fights even against champions who don't have their ults up.

The fact is that malzahar is probably the most iconic summon based champion in League and yet isn't focused around his principal of summoning but is rather focused around supressing the biggest threat (Pressing R) and allowing his team to nuke them, or in the rare case he isn't grouped, he can just wait in a bush to 100-0 someone with a single rotation in a matter of only 5 seconds of watching

Suggestions? these suggestions are probably bad, but the thread is addressed at the issue of his ult starving his power budget, here's some mud at the wall that probably wont stick. Either way I tried

Remove his passive, replace it with some sort of MR/armor steal

bring back his hybrid damage on W.

make his minions more survivable in later phases of the game, yet still manageable, my idea is to make them more succeptable to abilities by introducing a 2 auto attack to kill mechanic, but also a single hit threshold. this threshold if met would 1shot them, changing the AI of the minions to have them advance in a slightly less clumped position would be good

Replace his ultimate: Malzahar's old W had a lot of zoning power. What if he had a new ult with a relatively low cooldown that functioned similarly to a cross between his new W, His old W, and Zyra's Ult. In essence it would produce voidlings as long as he's on it and would empower these voidlings.

Attack speed?

Malz with a little bit of auto damage trickled in would be pretty cool. Maybe extend the attack speed buff of his minions onto malz as well when targetting an enemy afflicted by his E

This is the biggest problem. Malzahar was NEVER the "Iconic summon" champion. If you ask people who the iconic summon champ, 95% of the time people will think about Annie.

The original Malzahar was all about controlling space. With Q portals, W pool, and E bouncing from place to place, that was Malzahar's purpose: Get in this area and your HP will drop quickly, but get closer and I can't do much.

However when the Malzahar rework came around, people drunk on AD malzahar from URF wanted them to make him more focus on the Voildling so they could do it more during the next URF.

Because of that, his identity was removed and his abilities were nerf to hell to the point all he can do now is just be a suppressing bot.

are you calling for buffs on his ult or skipping my post and assuming i'm bitching about his ult lacking counter play?

Cause frankly i disagree with both sentiments, there's plenty of counter play to malz and his ultimate is still too strong for proper balance with his kit.

first off the "Buy qss or lose" idea is frankly shit balancing. Second I said his ult is good because of its implications in the game. and the power it holds pulls design options away from the champion, it's like shen but worse.
