Why are high elo jungle players building a bunch of support items?

I've seen a lot of Knight's Vows and Lockets on Warwick's and J4's when I watch guys like IWD (not the best example, I know). Is high elo a "protect the marksmen" meta again or is there something else I'm missing?

They offer more survivability than other current tank items.

Because the current jungle meta is shit.

Camp a lane because it gives more exp than jungle, putting you and your laner ahead even when you have significantly less farm/KDA. Lower gold income->support items, which isn't bad because they offer about as much as normal tank items, but for less.

As a result, your team has more utility and, in total, your team comes out ahead.

They're great team fighting items

Locket shield scales with bonus hp, so its really good on tank junglers, especially cause cinderhulk gives the bonus % hp. Knights vow is just really gold efficient. It can be seen as kinda a form of taunt concidering you take a percent of the damage of your partner. The heal is also pretty good.

Cause they're busted items.

Because they also work as general tank items. If you're playing a class that's made to keep your carries alive, having items that help that is good
