Instant abilties vs opponents reaction time
This is one of those things where everyone on here will shoot me down.
They will accuse me of not being able to play well enough to counter play, and ignore the fact that all of that goes out the window when you are in a team fight and things happen beyond your control, having to do with 8 other champions besides you and the one we are about to discuss. So spare me your regurgitated Riot logic.
My issue with with champions who have instant abilities---instantly vanishing and then reappearing for example, Wu.
I believe that the value of such abilities are disproportionately strong compared to possible reaction time and counter player. A person can only react so fast. A player using the instant ability doenst have to react instantly--they choose when to use it. The champion on the receiving end has to perceive what has happened. And its not instantaneous, first your eye detects movement, then color and then shape...once you have put together what has occurred you now how to decide what to do.
I think Riot has severely undervalued instant abilities where a champion vanishes or relocates. An example of it done well is Lissandra. Before she flashes there is considerable warning as to what is going to happen and where she will end up. You can play around this. Its reasonable.
I think one of the mos annoying parts of the games are champions that vanish. You will all trash me, but I have felt his way for 2 years, and the more I play the more I believe that such abilities that occur to fast are very annoying and honestly, ruin the game for me.
Imagine if Aatrox dive was instant. He just appears on you and knocks you up, you never saw it coming or could have reacted. Everyone agrees that would be insane, but we are all okay with other champions basically instantly being on you an slamming you for burst damage.
I feel like a crazy person because no one seems to want to agree to this. All I ever get from responses are people attacking me as a person or defending Riot. Very few reasonable responses.
