URGOT: Please fix the camera on his ult

Nebuul··6 votes·2,010 views

Hey Riot, I thought I'd post again and ask for you to fix the camera move on Urgot's ultimate. His ultimate can only move him so far. Not only that, but Urgot and his target cannot physically be far enough apart that both characters can't be visible on the screen at once.

Because of this, there is no reason to recenter the camera when the position swap happens. All this serves to do is give a brief moment of disorientation to the player using Urgot when he needs to have the most command of the situation. Please change his ultimate while you have it open for other updates and remove the camera move from it.

Thank you for your time. [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

Agreed, the forced camera move's more of a hindrance than a help, well intentioned though it is. We'll be removing it with the upcoming Urgot changes in 6.5.

I also find this a hindrance when playing Jhin, too. Like, when the ult ends, the camera does all this weird stuff when I just want to regain control of my character quickly and get back to doing what I need to do, instead of the camera making me click the wrong direction and walk straight into the enemy instead of reposition for more combat..

I think that it may finally be time to start playing Urgot.

Just played a game as Urgot in 6.5 and the forced camera movement is still happening

Urgot's ultimate isn't broken by distance, so if you catch someone at just the right time, you can swap with, say, an ulting Shen. Poppy ult is also fun.

That is such a rare edge case. The vast majority of the time, the camera move only hurts Urgot. Even in the edge case you mentioned, a tap of the space bar works wonders.

I wasn't commenting on whether or not this was a necessary change. Think of it as a 'fun fact' announcement.

Ah, cool

Hmm, that sure is interesting, by the way, you might want to state that it is a fun fact next time for clarity. (I.E. starting the sentence with "Fun Fact: ")

P.S. I was playing with a Thresh who threw out his hook at Poppy just as she ulted him back, he flew from Raptors to the inhibitor and it was a great laugh for everyone.

Are you sure about that? Because CC interrupts Shen normally. In particular, I noticed that Shen's ult is considered as "movement" so it's blocked by roots, although the channel isn't interrupted.

Teleports (most famously Recall, but also Shen, TP, TF, TK, Rek'Sai, etc.) have a tiny 'grace period' at the end where they can't be interrupted except by death. If Urgot latches on during that grace period, the teleport will complete, they'll get suppressed, and he'll swap across the map.
